CS Ferman News on Kirkland

Bro go on my twitter and see how much i dislike shannon but i call it how i see it. im tired of letting elite talent leave our backyard. plus who knows if coley can be trusted at this point. FSU is his alma mater and its known that coley will leave miami to be a HC the moment he gets the opportunity.

So will **** near every other coordinator in the country. What's your point?

Ice's job right now is to protect his player. Ice has now made the story about him and has taken the heat off of Kirkland. That is what a coach does. Ice has a professional and personal relationship with AG. At this point I am sure that AG understands that Ice need to protect his player. This too shall pass.

For the C4L faction that believes that this was UM trying to blow the lid off of some BTW conspiracy, tell me what UM gains be doing it so publicly like this where you're ****ing off more than just a single player as opposed to just letting the BTW guys do their hat thing, pick someone else, and then go after the 2014 guys without having a coach and/or player out there talking bad about you to anyone who will listen.

I guess Al Golden could may have been trying to play secret agent, but he didn't defuse the bomb at 0:01, it went off in his face if that is the case.

I posted this question in the Buzz thread.

I'm not a conspiracy guy. I don't think BTW was "playing" UM. But something was going on, on some level. My only guess as to why UM played it this was is that they wanted to know going into NSD exactly what they had. Didn't want to be sitting around waiting to find out if things would flip their way or not. I'm skepitcal of that, however.

Your thoughts?

Why do you not want 6? Every ******* post is about loosing Thomas. Ever think maybe the opposite happened and the staff then felt comfortable cutting Kirkland loose because they felt he was jerking their chain

Ok you can protect your player and lie and say it wasn't about grades...the problem I have is him getting all ****ed

"Silently commit to us or you can't come here." Does that sound like a coach that really wants the kid to come to his school?

Get the **** out of here with that weak bull****. Does this sound like a kid whose dream is to play for said school?

Coach: We really like you, want you in the class, but we're running out of room. OL isn't a big need position for us this year, and we need you to jump now if you're gonna jump.
Recruit: Sorry coach. You gotta wait a few more days to find out. You're in my top three.

Why would a kid commit to a school when the school is giving him an ultimatum? The ultimatum itself is proof that the school doesn't really want him. You don't give a kid a conditional offer if you truly want him in your class. So why should he have committed to a school that didn't truly even want him? Make some sense please.

You're making assumptions on this kid you don't even know based on zero evidence. You don't know what went into this kid's decision making process. Maybe he wouldn't commit because he wanted to discuss with his parents first, maybe he's religious and wanted to pray on it. Whatever. There could be any number of reasons for him not wanting to silently commit. In no way does that mean that he didn't truly want to come to Miami.

There have been plenty of kids who dreamed of playing for Miami that didn't commit before NSD.

Good night everyone, hoping to wake up tomorrow to the news that this was all a major misunderstanding

Miami didn't do it publically. They had a private meeting with the kid and prob Ice. UM isn't allowed to comment on recruits to the media. Who do you think linked the story?

when miami is the school you have dreamed to play for and the coach ask you are you coming? your answer should be yes not your in my top 3. To bad fat boy you lose

I've had the same thoughts on Denver Kirkland since the spring. He's a guard...he's a bit of a reacher...but...

Ain't no way I'm not taking Dade's #1 offensive line prospect...if he's got grade problems, you send that kid down the Green Mile to prep school n I'll see ya in 4 months. But you don't let the kid go to Ole Miss or USF. That's silly.

Jimbo "I love it when a plan comes together"

the staff just didn't value kirkland that highly... or at least as highly as kirkland values himself. someone like alex gall couldn't wait until signing day to commit to UM, so he took his offer. i'm not saying that he's "better" than kirkland for having done so, but he realized that he couldn't let the opportunity slip away.

it's not like UM won't allow signing day decisions. they didn't know what tracy howard was going to do on signing day last year. they kept a spot open for him because they valued him that highly. denver wasn't that important to them. we'll see if their valuation was correct.

Exactly, which is why something weird happened. Since when do we give that much of a **** whether a kid qualifies to pull his offer? We signed AJL knowing he had serious grade issues and sent him to prep, but we wouldn't send Kirkland to prep?

Unless they offered him a greyshirt and he said no. Now he can pick a school and not be "the bad guy" for leaving the hometown team

I really don't know, only one side is talking, and they have ZERO incentive to point the finger at themselves as opposed to pointing at someone else. Because considering the fallout, I'm just having a hard time envisioning a scenario where UM's staff couldn't have found a way to make this work so that it didn't explode like this.

If it's grades, you offer and if he signs, he preps, or he goes somewhere else because he knows he isn't getting in.
If it's numbers there are other guys who could have been cut loose before this guy.
And I'm still waiting to see the guy that UM wanted so badly they were willing to give up Kirkland, maybe Thomas, and inherit a huge ******* mess in the process to get. Unless the ink is drying on Clowney's transfer paperwork it isn't worth it.

Ever since Coley came on staff doesn't anyone else find it funny that some of these guys went mute an we supposedly opened more scholarships? I have a feeling Coley informed our staff of where Thomas, Kirk, and Bryant really stood, so we went out an found replacements so we weren't caught without pants down on NSD.
