I don't see why it's *that* big of a stretch. Given his stigma right now, Butch isn't going to get a high profile job. ****, he was at UNC before he got into an NCAA mess. Maybe he views FIU as a quick stepping stone back into an Arkansas, Ole Miss, etc., TYPE of job (not those jobs specifically).

Butch isn't a spring chicken anymore. And he's got a huge ego. IMO, he is not going to take a third tier job with limited upside in the hopes it will springboard into an SEC job. If he's really interested in this job, then my guess is that it's part of a retirement plan.

Players have not been notified, however there are MANY reports and articles out there right now stating that Davis is the clear #1 choice for the job.

I just can't see Butch taking FIU job until all the dust settles and the more high-profile gigs are filled. Which makes it ever more curious why Cristobal would be fired without a backup plan (unless there is something we don't know).

Mario should have not caved into his wife and took the PITT job last year. Now PITTS HC may be leaving after one year to take the Wisky job.

after recently moving to nyc i realize that the miami media is a complete joke. They would eat UM for a few clicks or papers sold. Amateurs like Sileo get air time and national credit for reporting bs like this like its fact or an actual concern. Its disgusting
 
I'm sure Butch is on FIU's list, but I doubt very much that FIU is on Butch's list.
