Cristobal can recruit the fuqk out

Selfishly, I hope things don't pan out for Mario at Oregon. Would love nothing more than to see him back home as an assistant coach wearing the colors (green & orange) that run in his veins. No question, as a former OL and a bonafide star recruiter he'd be a great asset to have at UM.

I can’t fault Mario for splitting on Golden, to work for Saban. Wouldn’t you? Hopefully, he learned he’s a better recruiter than coach and turns himself into a CEO-type HC. As a player for The U he spilled blood for a pair of rings.

I expect Richt to be HC for another 7-8 seasons. Not interested or concerns about Mario returning to The U as HC.

He'll be losing 6 games a year 4 years from now at Oregon as Phil Knight slips into senility and Luigi's Columbus Crew of apologists will still be pining for him to bring his head corching talents back "home" here.

Btw, he was 11-14 overall and 7-9 in the vaunted Sun Belt AFTER he won that oh soooooo magical CiCi's Pizza Buffet Bowl that all you clowns point at as some crowning moment of glory. But I guess he sucked cause of Pete Garcia, right?

Anyone who says they wouldn’t have is either lying or stupid . Now if it was Richt at Miami and not Golden, I would choose to stay at Miami over Saban

so coaches can't learn and improve as they get older and more experienced?? Hmmm, I guess that's the only profession that is the case.

He had a ****** first coaching gig, at a very ****** program. The guy then went and learned under arguably the best CFB coach that has ever lived and you think he won't take anything from that? I hope he does really well at Oregon, continues to learn the ropes and then comes home after Richt retires and is here forever. He can recruit with the best of them and he's put one **** of a recruiting staff together there as well.

and for those that may may say Oregon always recruits well, they have NEVER recruited this well. Chip Kelly's Ducks were always in the 15-20 range in recruiting.

Rumph could have did that. He was at FIU ....in the best recruiting grounds in the country...playing in a conference that dont come close to those kind of recruits. AGAIN...he was owned by whomever coached at FAU at the times...who didnt even recruit on par with fiu. I mean if you want to crown him ..crown him. Pete Garcia fired that *** though. lol

I mean it was Howard Schnellenberger, but I agree Cristobal is not a great coach.

He just beat the Gaytors for a big WR - Mycah Pittman- Kid had an 8 min. committment video Came down to Oregon and Florida. Another Gaytor tear.....

He lost that bowl game to a freshman Rakeem Cato

He won his bowl game in 2010 in a classic game vs. Toledo. He took FIU to two bowl games. Pretty impressive considering FIU started its football program when I was in High School.

Richt lost to a true freshman QB last year at Pitt. I guess he sucks too?

I laughed when people said he was only a good recruiter because he was at Alabama. Why tf did you think Saban hired him? It certainly wasn't for his coaching ability. I don't downplay his performance at FIU. That program has been hot garbage since he left. Although Butch Davis (speaking of great recruiters who can't coach) did manage 8 wins last year.

Really good recruiter and a coaching mercenary. He's a recruiter that coaches rather than a coach that recruits. He's not particularly a good coach and remains to be seen whether or not he can surround himself with other guys that CAN coach. I don't think he will but we'll see.
