What does making bad decisions have to do with recruiting, developing and coaching linemen? I would argue quite a bit. You don’t think so?
i feel like I am talking to my kids when they were 3. You are making my exact point and are now focusing on bending the conversation. To answer your question, NOTHING. But it is the reason that you are trying to make this silly argument. If we won yesterday, are we even hearing from you with regards to this incorrect point?
The OLine is solid. That group is technically coached by ALEX MIRABAL. This is the argument that you were initially making, that the group is poorly coached. Now to your current remark: Making bad decisions by not going for it and leaving a team at the 2 yard line if you are unsuccessful on 4th down. That was MARIO CRISTOBAL’s decision, which was bad.
How does making bad decisions for the team have anything to do with recruiting and developing O Lineman? As a matter of speaking, Mario has done a great job recruiting. Would you not agree that him recruiting Cam Ward in the transfer portal was a good decision? So why are his other recruiting takes poor? Especially the OLine as you are harping on now?
Given the overwhelming responses in here that run counter to your argument about the OLine sucking, I am going to refrain from wasting any more time pointing out the obvious and will conclude with points that are well covered.
-Emory is terrible and plays like a statue. Even with a strong OLine, he must move his feet in the pocket and drift with it. That is not Cam magic, but how the position is played. Cam did it to another level during the season, most of the time to our benefit, sometimes to our detriment.
-Mario the coach is a terrible decision maker and is the reason that we lost the game with how it was played. He should have gone for it on 4th and 2.
-The defense is terrible! Guidry needs to be let go immediately. His guys being confused in lining up was unacceptable in the 13th game of the season. That was just the tip of the iceberg.
-Our secondary was terrible, but our LBs didn’t help, especially when the run came off tackle and they picked up 20+ yards each time. This play was run successfully a handful of times.
-The end of the game was laughable. Trying to beat the clock allowed their defense to drop into coverage as we didn’t have time to run the ball and use our strength (the OLine)
BTW, in case you are confused, the questions in my response above are rhetorical. Please do not answer them as the est of us that use logic know the real answers.
