Are Mario and mirabal good o line coaches?

I remember it differently. When TVD was at the helm it became pretty clear that part of the problem was Mario’s predilection for max protection. Minimal routes being run to create an illusion of great pass protection, resulting in no open receivers.

If I’m to guess, we will look much more like that on offense next year.
Cam Ward's sacks dropped by 50% behind this line, if anything, this O-line masked Cam Ward's propensity to be sacked - not the other way around.

I don’t think I watched more than five minutes of Washington state football when cam Ward was there but that’s an interesting stat. I’ll still remember cam for being Houdini in the pocket though.

Yea Guidry sucks and that shows in how his players perform. Why was Emory 5-14 with six qb hits? Was that Guidry?
Because he is not a good qb! One of those batted at the line, one of those hit Kirk in the hands and it sailed. Many were while under pressure from the CLOCK since our moron coach decided that 3 points was going to win the game despite not being able to do the math to realize that you need more than a 7 point lead to be in solid position heading down the stretch.

Did you happen to notice that all of the second stringers were in at WR? Perhaps this is why we were unsuccessful, because those kids can’t get the separation that they need to get open. This was not on the OLine.

And one more comment to your hot take, Cam caused himself many problems this year by waiting in the pocket for too long. His check down guy was open most of the snaps that he took sacks on. Go rewatch some film and recognize that our OLine did too good of a job and often caused Cam to feel comfortable to wait for upwards of 6-10 seconds at times to then take a coverage sack.

Remind which moron coach that is and what his specialty is
His specialty is losing games! Making bad decisions! What does him being a former OLine player and OLine coach have to do with making bad decisions?

I can’t fathom why you are **** bent on making this argument. Either you don’t know football and never played the sport or you are interested in being a fly on the ointment.

I appreciate people that run counter to the mainstream when they believe strongly in their opinions, but you are way outmatched here. Let it die!

What does making bad decisions have to do with recruiting, developing and coaching linemen? I would argue quite a bit. You don’t think so?

Do you think it will be next year, too?
Yes. Development of some of the young guys and most starters returning plus a portal center.

On this entire team OL is my very last concern.

QB
New DC
All new D coaches
Saftey
CB
LB
DE
RB
TE
WR
DT
Any new O coaches
OC
Center
Rest of OL

My order of 2025 concerns.

I think those are two separate issues (biggest portal needs vs will the o line actually be good). I do generally agree with your prioritization going into the portal. I just anticipate a big step back in o line pass protection next season.

I’m not even saying portal needs. I’m saying with the additions we’ve made in the portal as of today that is the order of things I’m worried about for next year.

Development of young guys could help DE position and others.

But the portal I guess is a part of it as well because the only way we fix any of the top 6 position groups on there is portal, because the young guys aren’t good or their not here anymore.

i feel like I am talking to my kids when they were 3. You are making my exact point and are now focusing on bending the conversation. To answer your question, NOTHING. But it is the reason that you are trying to make this silly argument. If we won yesterday, are we even hearing from you with regards to this incorrect point?

The OLine is solid. That group is technically coached by ALEX MIRABAL. This is the argument that you were initially making, that the group is poorly coached. Now to your current remark: Making bad decisions by not going for it and leaving a team at the 2 yard line if you are unsuccessful on 4th down. That was MARIO CRISTOBAL’s decision, which was bad.

How does making bad decisions for the team have anything to do with recruiting and developing O Lineman? As a matter of speaking, Mario has done a great job recruiting. Would you not agree that him recruiting Cam Ward in the transfer portal was a good decision? So why are his other recruiting takes poor? Especially the OLine as you are harping on now?

Given the overwhelming responses in here that run counter to your argument about the OLine sucking, I am going to refrain from wasting any more time pointing out the obvious and will conclude with points that are well covered.

-Emory is terrible and plays like a statue. Even with a strong OLine, he must move his feet in the pocket and drift with it. That is not Cam magic, but how the position is played. Cam did it to another level during the season, most of the time to our benefit, sometimes to our detriment.
-Mario the coach is a terrible decision maker and is the reason that we lost the game with how it was played. He should have gone for it on 4th and 2.
-The defense is terrible! Guidry needs to be let go immediately. His guys being confused in lining up was unacceptable in the 13th game of the season. That was just the tip of the iceberg.
-Our secondary was terrible, but our LBs didn’t help, especially when the run came off tackle and they picked up 20+ yards each time. This play was run successfully a handful of times.
-The end of the game was laughable. Trying to beat the clock allowed their defense to drop into coverage as we didn’t have time to run the ball and use our strength (the OLine)

BTW, in case you are confused, the questions in my response above are rhetorical. Please do not answer them as the est of us that use logic know the real answers.
