He must have missed Cam literally standing there before throwing a ball to to an outlet because there was so much time.
Nice sample size. For the whole season, when you envision cam dropping back to pass, is that what you’ll remember him for? Or will you remember him for having eyes in the back of his head?

do you think the coaches knew that was an issue going into the game? If they did, why not work the quick passing game more? If they didn’t, why don’t coaches know their player strengths and weaknesses?
We had a bunch of quick passes. They were almost hilarious to watch if I was a fan of a different team.

Can’t throw quick. Can’t throw middle. Certainly can’t throw deep.

Not ideal.

Seems logical to run the ball when they couldn’t stop us but hey…we needed experience I guess.

You're remembering a play or two per game where Cam ran around and made something happen. For the most part, he had time to throw and we had holes to run.

Man, i get it. **** Mario. But the only thing he does pretty well at is building a good Oline.

I think it’s insane to not trash Mario for not firing Guidry or any of the defense staff.
Problem with you and most of the board is. You use Mario’s obvious shortcomings to assume changes won’t be made. If he fires Guidry before the bowl game “man no one is going to want to work for Mario! He wasn’t prepared with a replacement already?! No wonder we lost guys in the portal we don’t have a dc!” But because they’re not fired yet you assume the staff won’t change. You really think no defensive changes and Emory is the starter? You really think he’s that content? Just like you really think cam decided at halftime not to play anymore? You guys gotta stop the doom and gloom for no reason. Yes the defense still sucks yes the hire is on Mario! But this assumption of an obvious backslide in 2025 is premature.

Are they actually good at recruiting, developing and coaching offensive linemen?
Can we nominate this for 2024 porst of the year?

People are ****ed at Cristobal (rightly so) and would vote that way regardless of the topic at hand.

They built an excellent o-line here.
Do you think the o line will look as awesome without cam Ward? I think he covered for a lot of their shortcomings

It was good before Cam, and after.
I remember it differently. When TVD was at the helm it became pretty clear that part of the problem was Mario’s predilection for max protection. Minimal routes being run to create an illusion of great pass protection, resulting in no open receivers.

If I’m to guess, we will look much more like that on offense next year.

They’re pretty **** good at coaching the unit to play the game but by no means are they good any better than anyone else developing guys (maybe they’re top 25ish in the country there), I’m seriously starting to doubt their identification with each one that transfers out. They’ve hit on what 2/15 (3 if you want to count McCoy) from HS and 1/1 on juco. They’re extremely lucky they inherited Jalen Rivers. They’ve missed their chosen center every year until this year. Haven’t won a recruiting battle vs a decent team for an OL since Sampson and even that was just against Florida. Finally won a decent one with SJ this year but they were on a drought. Good teams didn’t want Plazz, Minaya, Francavilla, etc. the best team in any of those races was NCST. Nobody wanted the 2 Orlando OL this year. You beat Norvell for Buchanan, and I guess Michigan for SJ.

By no means is the OL a problem. It’s actually good. But they miss as much as anyone on the trail and get by with volume and portal which I’m fine with. They coach it up good for game day and general position fundamentals. Until they make something out of one of these under the radar guys that they insist on taking every year, like they did Anez, I’m a little skeptical of the “development”
