So this cat had legit offers from Auburn, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, UCLA, and Vanderbilt...with the heavy hitters in Auburn and OSU coming in late...Ole Miss was also on him.

Wants to play both sports in college.

Looks like an athlete. 4* on basically every service.

21st century version of Leonard Conley.
Which is a very good thing.

Would love for him to be anywhere close to Conley. Conley was one of my favorite players growing up.

* was on him for a while *** was at one of his games early in the season. Auburn's coaches were at a BBall game. Think Gus was there. Saban and a couple coaches checked him out during football season. His dad would post stuff on FB from time to time. He didn't know who Gus was. LOL

Just curious, why hadn't we heard about him for football? Was it assumed he was focusing on basketball?

No , he was mentioned around a year ago as a possibility on Ci. He is a " football player".

If you really trust these guys and their rankings for some reason, knock yourself out and rank the teams by average "stars." We're in the top 15 there.

I liken him more to Al Shipman.

Kid is a much better football prospect. He'll be football only in no time.

Froggy Shipman was one of the fastest dudes I've ever seen on a football field. If this dude's like Froggy, then he's going to be unbelievable. Remember the year where Pink Erickson had that incompetent slug Dave Arnold corching our special teams, and our entire kick coverage unit consisted of Froggy running down kick returners and preventing touchdowns? The kick returner would bust through the intial wall and appear to be on his way for a sure TD, and out of nowhere a blur (Shipman) would appear to make the tackle.

He didn't last all that long here, but he was one of my favorites during his brief time at UM.

Sean Taylor was a great RB in HS, and it worked out pretty good to put him at S.

I think Shipman averaged like 10 yards a carry in 94, too, IIRC. He ended up leaving UM as soon as he figured out he didn't fit into what Butch Davis was looking for( and I think academics were an issue, also) and he went to the CFL

Another good small guy we had back then was Trent Jones...
