CORNELL @ MIAMI (-16) 7PM WED ACCNX & RSN also try BallySUN

Probably will get poster static but Coach L did NOT manage a good ending and needs to own almost losing this game to a huge underdog. Whether fatigue, guys getting punchy or playground giddy, or just unable to control their adrenaline (and the ball), there could have been more use of Walker, Beverly, Casey and especially Wooga (despite his early problems... he was back in late and played very well)...

Give the guys giving back the game a rest, or a lesson that if you can't get it right now watch someone else try. Yeah, those 4 are not our usual best, but sorry, i have to daresay they could hardly have played worse than several on the floor for final minutes.

Your answer to poor ball security is to put in the most ball insecure players on the team???? That is such an absurdly preposterous notion… oy vey.

If you want to criticize Coach L (which I don’t think is warranted), the proper criticism is that he wasn’t sufficiently in sync with his players to coach them the way they needed to be coached in the end game. But, also, I’m not sure even perfect coaching would have made any difference. The guys were over the game and just trying to get back to the locker room the last 5 minutes or so. That’s a super tough situation to coach out of. And putting in jittery and turnover prone players who have far less experience is ABSOLUTELY IN NO UNIVERSE the appropriate thing to do.

Coach L was nervous about this game going into it, and I think his anxiety/frustration bubbled over in the last few minutes. Unfortunately, that didn’t help settle and motivate the team… thus the endgame collapse.

But Coach L doesn’t need to “own” anything, even as I suspect both he and the team learned important and valuable lessons.

if you buy the fatigue argument, especially with wooga playing well late, he (Coach L) didnt do a great finish job in my opinion not putting Poplar or fresh guys in, but welcome to yours.

UPD: you see Beverly just now last 6 minutes of NC State game. He and Wooga definitely should have been in late versus Cornell.. if they played like this we win by a dozen or more then.

If this game came before Cornell I think you’d be right - but Beverly hadn’t earned those minutes before the Cornell game and Poplar was having a terrible night against those pesky Ivy leaguers.
