Conference Realignment Thread

FSU is going no where unless Miami comes with them.

You have no clue what you're talking about. I couldn't be more clear or informed. There is no debate; there is no uncertainty. FSU wants in the SEC. Barron has asked for the Governor's help. The Governor thinks FSU in the SEC is good for the economy, and he is going to put pressure on UF to support the move. The entire Board is behind the move, and every major FSU booster as well. If that fails, FSU is going to the Big 12. From the horse's mouth. So stop with the FSU will only leave if Miami comes along bs.

LOL at the idea that any school would leave the SEC- the minute you put Kentucky there, you lost it.

And to the poster who said UM should cancel with FSU if they go to SEC, are you on drugs? Get rid of our biggest rival, our biggest guaranteed draw, just to theoretically minimize their recruiting. GTFOH with that reasoning.

So the Big East is probably officially dead...

The ACC could be the next to fall....

How would we feel about this:

NEW BIG 12(14)
EAST
Miami
FSU
Clemson
VaTech
Texas
Louisville
Kentucky

WEST
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St
TCU
Texas Tech
Vandy
Kansas St
Kansas

THAT'S HOW IT'S GOING DOWN

I'm hearing Kentucky to the ACC.

You're kidding right? Why in the world would a school like UK ever leave the $$ of the SEC? You don't see Vandy trying to get out. Those schools are counting their blessings that they're in the SEC.

FSU doesn't need Miami for anything. They want to be part of a football conference and the ACC aint it. Miami wants to be part of the better academic conference, unfortunatley that means staying in the ACC.

Wonder if that has anything to do with a judge in NC allowing the lawsuit against MD by the ACC to go on.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina judge declined to dismiss a lawsuit filed against Maryland by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Guilford County Superior Court Judge John O. Craig III on Monday denied the motion Maryland filed last month.
The school is leaving the ACC for the Big Ten. The ACC sued the school in November to make it pay its $52 million exit fee. Maryland sued the ACC last month in a Maryland court, calling the fee invalid.
Maryland lawyer Alex Barrett argued a North Carolina court has no jurisdiction over Maryland and because the school is an arm of the state, it enjoys sovereign immunity that protects it from lawsuits.
ACC attorney Alan Duncan countered that in North Carolina, sovereign immunity doesn’t exist in contractual claims.
Both Barrett and Duncan declined commen
