Heard rumor of FSU, Clemson, and Miami going to Big12 with FOX coming up with HUGE tv contract.
well it's monday and nothing has happened

On Friday I tweeted a report about Georgia Tech and Virginia, which turned out to be inaccurate -- for the time being. I can only offer my apologies to the people I misled. Changes in the ACC are on the cusp of fruition, but today is not that day.

The reality is that NCAA conference realignment is one of the more complex issues today in sports. Powerful people inside various universities have certain agendas. My sources, no matter how influential and credible they may be, indeed were not enough to run with a story of this magnitude. I found out the hard way.

I vow to not be defined by this error in judgment and look forward to interacting with all of you through various media platforms.

He should of left this part out "Changes in the ACC are on the cusp of fruition",

Someone on the GT board posted that the Big 10 presidents granted their commish the authority to make overtures to UVA and GT, nothing more, nothing less. If anything comes of it, if those schools even sit down with the Big 10, is yet to be seen.

On Jax sports radio today they were talking about the raiding of the ACC. Their thought is that GT and Va go to the Big 10, UNC and Duke go to the SEC and FSU, Clemson, VT and maybe Louisville will go to the Big 12. The say that UM could go to the Big 12, but worry that UM does not have the money to compete in the new world of college football and may fade away for a lack of better words. The host knows Gino and says he has privately has the same sentiment. Thoughts?

I know some feel we are a good candidate for the Big 10, and that would make sense due to our academic standing, but can UM afford the commitment? I would love to see the Big 10 move east and create a super conference with about 4 divisions with a playoff weekend and a championship weekend but I doubt the NCAA would go for that.

dont see any of that playing out. too much IMO and Duke and UNC in the SEC is laughable.

As I have written several times, CFB is moving towards towards four 16 team superconferences, and the ACC is number 5.

The SEC is at 14 teams, they only need two more. Oklahoma and Louisville are the two most obvious choices. Duke and UNC would not be good fits.

Likewise, the B10 now only needs 2 teams. From a big market perspective, Miami and GT make the most sense, as well as academically.

The Big 12 seems like a good fit for the other ACC teams, like FSU, Clemson, NCST, etc.

They said Duke and UNC are a package deal... tobacco road. I guess it is an in-road for basketball. I could see them in them in the Big 10 personally, SEC is strange. They feel UF will block FSU and USC will block Clemson from the SEC so that is why they will join the Big 12.

Just passing on what they said on the radio, but they feel GT is as good as gone once the Maryland stuff shakes out.

I say we kick the door in on the establishment, like we did in the 80s, and set the whole ************ on fire. Force them to notice us because we are kicking everybody's ***/

Why is everyone so sure the ACC will dissipate?

Because of the football/tv forced move towards four 16 team superconferences, and the ACC is a pathetic football conference. Its either the ACC or the Big 12.
