Good idea, but 2 possible issues:

1. This would require the B1G, SEC, and other conferences to agree that the ACC gets 2 spots in the playoff every year. Considering how much the SEC ****ed and moaned with SMU getting the 2nd spot in this year's playoff, I don't see them signing off on it. When it goes to 14? Maybe.

2. Does the ACC hamstring themselves in some years? What if there are 3 ACC teams that are in the mix? Admittedly, this would be rare, but they would be locking themselves in.

Guys, I haven’t checked into this thread for a while so this may have been recently discussed. SIAP.

Question - how big a revenue share per team are we currently talking about for the ACC vs SEC vs BiG? And what do people think the renegotiation will do to close the gap? Also don’t want to get locked in so is there any way to make sure they can’t later separate themselves from us even further?

The bigger issue is NETWORK AIR TIME / programming slots / visibility. This past season the B10 / SEC gobbled up more air time with "Big Ten Friday Night Football" and "The SEC on ABC". That is only going to get worse and the ACC / B12 will be limited to streaming apps unless they are playing a B10 or SEC opponent. The B10 and SEC are also discussing a scheduling agreement ... and the SEC will eventually be going to 9 conference games, and those games will be getting the prime programming air time. The next media contracts for them both are 2030 ... and that contract will have a huge disparity vs the ACC / B12.

Brilliant idea for conference...WHEN

there is an outright champion...BUT

IF said champion is crowned from among 2-3-4 candidates from the 13th tie-breaker criteria like "whose color scheme in uniforms is gheyer" (not uncommon in a larger league like ACC now with teams not all playing each other), then it will be a ****show...

With above said, I'm a buyer.

I would love to see us be such a thorn in the side of the Big10 to such a degree that they have no choice but try to absorb us.

A guy can dream.

Miami has been silent on leaving the ACC. I don't take that silence to mean things aren't going on behind the scenes. In fact, I'm sure Miami is looking at possible landing spots. What are you hearing? Where do you want Miami to land?
