MEGA Conference Realignment and lawsuits Megathread: Stories, Tales, Lies, and Exaggerations

It is still very odd that Miami doesn't have a mens golf team. Located in Florida ... one of the golfing capitals of the world ... and Miami with no mens golf team? Stetson built a beautiful golf practice facility 5 years ago. I play every now and then with a cousin who Winters in NW Florida, at a Tallahassee course, and the FSU team is always there practicing.
It's 100% bizarre UM doesn't have a men's golf team. I'm sure it's some Title IX stuff to make the numbers work. But, It's bizarre nonetheless. However, I am surprised UM doesn't have a women's softball team. That's a pretty popular women's collegiate sport, especially around tournament time.

I own one of those. I've had it for at least 10 years and it still does the job. That 14C28N a very good "budget" or "mid-range" steel. Not an edge retention champion, but it's so easy to sharpen that it doesn't really matter (at least not for the sort of tasks I use a folder).
It's like we're Eskimo brothers now. I have several Kershaws now because of that Blur. They open faster than an automatic.

We did. It got cut in the early 90s.

What, exactly, was the SEC "demanding"?
A significant increase in the number of sports offered among other things that miami just has no reason to commit to..
.

If we would be making the big bucks now and trying to compete with the big boys, why not commit to additional sports? Wouldn't the BIG want the same? Why not grow our appeal.
Its got less to do with $ necessarily and more to do with logistics and facility space. I do think school will offer more sports under a P2 banner but there are certain sports they can offer tomorrow vs others that would require years to prepare for. Just look at how hard it is to upgrade a football building on an existing blueprint and now imagine building a softball field and lockerrooms or space for a gymnastics team to practice and compete etc

It looks very intriguing, but I carry mine on the regular, so I'd suffer from paranoia about it opening by accident.

I get that. Auto OTFs can be unsettling in that way. I definitely wouldn't carry a single action OTF or a budget OTF.
My experience has been good, though. I carried the livewire for probably 3 months straight without issue (and unless I'm walking through a metal detector, I have a folder on me every day).

Real or not. No one wants to hear what amount to excuses. 100th Anniversary of the University of Miami with Rad Dan Radakovich, Deloitte Joe and Super Mario leading the sports (and academic) resurgence at The U!

Just. Get. It. Done.

it will be done. Just was answering why no to SEC. Miami will be just fine...
It makes sense from the SEC's perspective to ask for such things. Miami to the B1G is my preference for academics and athletics, but as long as we are not left out for too much longer... That said, I will believe it when I see from the powers that be.

As an alum, the big 10 has always been my preference for a multitude of reasons many which have nothing to do with athletics. And i am normally a skeptic of the university especially when it comes to athletics and recent hires.. But i will also say this is not something that happens over night and the school has been having conversations and preparing for this for years not months. Its only a matter of when not if. Based on my information anyway.
