Not an excuse. Just a smart decision to build your product.
Both schools have played football for over a 100 years. The conference is over 70 years old. They still need to build the product?

The ACC just has smaller schools is all. They move this game to the Atlanta dome like the SEC game and it's still going to be tough to fill every year.

Can any of the resident play calling experts explain why coaching savant Rhett Lashlee isn’t just calling better plays? I was assured that it’s simple to do, on both sides of the ball, but our coaches are too stupid to see it.

But playing an extra game wasn't supposed to be a punishment...
THIS should be the response. Not that SMU, who went 11-1 in the regular season, needs to prove their worth in the bonus game.

If Indiana and Tennessee can sit at home and safely be in because they weren't good enough to make their conference championships, it's absurd (but completely on brand) for them to already be setting the narrative that SMU isn't safe.

Strengths of schedule worse than Miami that will be in playoff (not counting Oregon):

Yeah, let’s live in the past. Things are going so well for the conference these days.
