Problem is likely sourcing wood, meat, etc. That and I would also say that most barbecue people don't go too far from home. That's probably the biggest hangup.

The best BBQ I've had in S. FL was little roadside places that are essentially a hole in the wall or even a trailer setup.

The key to any of these events is to drop a few travel bags of cash and get the parents and handlers drunk and happy.

I’m not really sure why people still expect commitments during the weekend are immediately after. It’s just not how Mario operates. You could be right of course but it’s the same futile exercise every time we do this. People expect something to happen…it doesn’t…they lose their minds, and then a bit down the road things happen that you realize happened previously

So while silent commits are pretty meaningless I would expect the “success” of the weekend to be more fully realized over the next few weeks

Mario isn’t an instant gratification guy and it drives this fanbase insane, but it’s also why he seems to have less decommitments than we’ve had in the past

Just my two cents anyway

South Carolina is a little like Pennsylvania where I grew up.

You can be in a town like Greenville which is about where I am, which is a huge thriving booming town, but also like a mile down the street is straight up Deliverance ****

Wrong Turn was an apt name for a movie (though I think that was West Virginia)

Pennsylvania is country as **** mostly. I lived in Metro DC, VA, MD for years and all you have to do is cross on those border country Maryland areas by Frederick, Carroll or Washington Counties in Maryland - or further out by Cumberland - and it’s a step up from West Virginia.

I was actually in South Riding, VA for a while before I moved to South Carolina. I’ve gone on a bit of a world tour the last few years bouncing around so not sure how far that was from you (before you left I mean) but I’ve spent a ton of time in the DC area the last few years
