Coley and Burns

Fastest over what distance?

Duke is the quickest
Burns over 110 is the fastest (easily)
Dorsett maybe has the fastest 40

And then there's speed in pads vs. speed on a track

Wouldn't say easily for that. Dorsett had the faster 100m (by a bit) and 200m times, but Burns had the faster hurdle times.

Where are Burn's 100m and 200m times? He doesn't run those events, however, Burns has placed in 1st in the 110m hurdles his sophmore through senior years at the fhsaa finals.

Burns fastest time was a 10.51, but he only ran the 100m twice, while in hs. Dorsett's fastest time was a 10.51.

Not a knock on Dorsett but it is hard for me to believe he ran a 10.51 100m. Most of his 100m times always showed the 10.75 range and he doesn't blow past people on a field which is what you would do with 10.51 speed.

All of the times on that site are from meets that use laser timers. He hit a 10.6 during this spring at the hurricane invitational, despite being 20-25 lbs heavier than has hs weight. I think his speed shows without the ball. He runs by dbs on deep routes, but he's not very fast with ball in his hands. FWIW, I attended 5 spring practices, and I didn't see any of our corners stay with him on a 9 route.

Dorsett probably wont race him because he doesnt want to lose to a freshman. im not saying he would lose but its smart of him not to race him

you guys got two special ones in those two. i thought coley was the best prospect in florida last year and certainly top 10 in the country. i know people in the know in florida didn't sleep on him but i think he was slept on from a national perspective. he's a game changer.

Even if I didn't wear o&g glasses, I wouldn't disagree. I've only seen film, but he looks like a better receiver than Lane, who is higher rated for his class. Kid is ****ing gazelle. It's ridiculous how fast and smooth he is. I could see him being the best WR since the Freak by the time he leaves UM.

Coley shyts on Lane. Much smoother and more natural athlete and WR.

And most importantly Coley is a CANE.

I don't see why age would factor into anything. Maybe if they were in middle school and Dorsett was in the 8th grade and Burns was in the 6th he might have a little bit of an ego. I'm pretty sure college athletes are aware there are gonna be guys that come in who are faster than them. Same would go for the NFL. Would a 4 year vet not race a possible faster player because he is a rookie?

If this was a 40 time

1) Phillip Dorsett ‏@Dorsett_4

@darealHassan I ran 4.19 and 4.27

Does Dorsett wear ankle weights during games? He's fast, but all this talk about being the fastest man on the planet seems a bit overdone.

I remember Renaldo Nehemiah running a 4.1 back in the day. Doubt it was laser timed. Then again, it didn't matter how fast he ran because his hands were harder than Roberto Duran's.

He did run those times but they were hand timed by Swasey, which should be in the upper 4.3's on a laser

Swasey is usually pretty accurate though. I remember we would hear some of his times in the past and fans would go "yeah right" but then the kid would post nearly the same time at the NFL combine. Mike James, Javaris James, Colin McCarthy, DVD were some of the kids that come to mind.

That Dorsett time is BS though. He probably had one of his homeboys timing him. The dude can run though, no doubt about that. He blows through coverages, he just doesn't do much with the ball in his hands.

I was thinkin of making a separate thread for this, but I'll just ask it here. Out of T Howard and Artie out of high school, who are you takin first? I know Tracy was the #1 CB in his class, but I'm taking Artie by a considerable margin. What say you?

/glad we have both

Looking forward to him and Burns goin at it this fall, good to see speed and explosion like this on the field, instead of Wake Forest back ups....
