you guys got two special ones in those two. i thought coley was the best prospect in florida last year and certainly top 10 in the country. i know people in the know in florida didn't sleep on him but i think he was slept on from a national perspective. he's a game changer.
Even if I didn't wear o&g glasses, I wouldn't disagree. I've only seen film, but he looks like a better receiver than Lane, who is higher rated for his class. Kid is ****ing gazelle. It's ridiculous how fast and smooth he is. I could see him being the best WR since the Freak by the time he leaves UM.
.
For Coley, my complete speculation is that it will be mental in that he has to stay focused and patient (because of the depth chart opportunities). Basically, he'll get a small window and has to convert.

That's exactly what will happen. He will need to come in with the right mindset and be willing to work hard and not get discouraged if everything doesn't go his way. If he goes in the tank it's going to be tough for him to move up the depth chart. He's got a little diva in him, so I hope he reacts right to the de-recruitment and busts *** like Lewis did last year because his ability is off the charts.
Anybody Else see Coley absolutely TOAST Tracey Howard after slipping? WOW I didn't realize what a freaking stud he is. You can't jam him, he has crazy get off and insane burst in and out of his cuts for his size
Pretty sure both of these guys are in the top 6 athletes on the team already. Turning that into production will be a mental thing for both.
For Burns it will be the ability to process information, though my hope is some of that is reduced by playing the Nickel "roamer" position where he's used closer to the line of scrimmage and to chase plays.

Basically, he'll get a small window and has to convert. Lockhart got a tiny window last year and, for multiple reasons, couldn't turn that into anything. Hopefully, Morris' touch has improved because a guy like Coley could find a spot as a Red Zone target. We need one.
it would be a disservice to your team if your coaches asked these guys to process too much. not saying that is what you're saying, but that's what i took from your posts.
one of the things i liked about meyer is that with really talented young guys he just lets them play. i recall a story of him talking about janoris jenkins where he played man all year except a handful of snaps, he didn't want to overload him with anything just let him use his athleticism and cover. same with guys offensively, get them in space and get them the rock. burns and coley are those type of players, just let them do their thing and don't 'overcoach.'

Agreed with both of you guys which is why I don't think its going to take long to figure out what we have with Coley. He knew what he was getting in to depth chart wise but he also believes he is the best WR on the team. Its not going to be one of these "looking back in 3 years" cases IMO.
Since Artie beat Coley in the Greentree 40yard dash competition...other teammates (Waters, Scott, etc...) have been urging him and Dorsett to race. But, this was Dorsett response...
1) Phillip Dorsett @Dorsett_4
@_audi8 I'm not racing, nobody on this team can beat me in running.. And they know that!
Fastest over what distance?
Duke is the quickest
Burns over 110 is the fastest (easily)
Dorsett maybe has the fastest 40
And then there's speed in pads vs. speed on a track

Wouldn't say easily for that. Dorsett had the faster 100m (by a bit) and 200m times, but Burns had the faster hurdle times.

Where are Burn's 100m and 200m times? He doesn't run those events, however, Burns has placed in 1st in the 110m hurdles his sophmore through senior years at the fhsaa finals.
