How exactly do you "waste" a punter?

The punter has literally nothing to do with what the other team does on a kick off return since he's not on the field, with the rare exception that the punter is kicking off. That special teams play that you mentioned the TE outrunning everyone was an interception return, AKA another play where the punter is not on the field. Trick plays? He's a punter. Returning punts for TDs? Again, not the job of the punter.

It's one thing when you dump your scrambled egg brain cells out into a post, but it's something special when you double down on it.
Only way to waste a punter is to have a kick-*** offense that leaves the punter on the sideline. Best punter is the one you never hear about.

Word.

If Miami was really serious about winning, they would go for it on every 4th down and just eliminate the P and re-allocate the slot to a position of need.

This is depressing, JFC fold the program.

Gaby’s posts in the last few minutes seems to suggest that there are legs to Beard considering Syracuse as a destination
People in the know here alluded to Beard's departure many weeks (if not months) ago, my wild guess is that this could be another situation in which Mario let his guy find a position instead of directly firing him.

Why? I don't know, Beard has been a good coach and recruiter so we can only speculate.

My guess is Woodiel, Merritt or Beard…in that order.

Mirabal isn’t going anywhere and if Dawson leaves now it’s likely a pro gig of some sorts.

Merritt has coached for various coaching trees, so he may be covered by programs looking for RB coaches.

Was thinking the same thing

Wonder if they’re giving him slight pay bump and co-oc / passing game coordinator.

I like what Beard’s done but not going to pretend he wouldn’t be pretty essy to replace.
Strategic move by Cuse for Russell's recruitment

If he goes it would be some kind of "mutual" agreement, as we saw many times under Mario.

Many alluded to this a while ago.

These "mutual" separations occur when the assistant coach or coordinator isn't cutting it. Beard has recruited reasonably well, he's a local and his guys have played well. I don't see this situation with Beard. Perhaps it's salary related, especially with how expensive soFla cost--of-living has become.

That's true but, again, some reliable posters on here alluded to some things that are not performance-related with KB.

Logic and common sense say that we are not losing to Syracuse (or other 125 CFB programs) someone we are not ok losing. That's a fact.
