Coaching Staff 12/27 PM Update: Rumph, others

View as article
We all know the story on Rumph - good coach/developer and downright horrible recruiter.

What i dont understand is how/why Manny didnt or does not try to help Rumph out on recruiting. And if hes gonna stay, you need a MUCH better plan here or were doomed to fail again. Either team Rumph up with Banda and have them JOINTLY recruit every CB prospect, micromanage Rumph to ensure his has a HUGE board of prospects hes crooting or do ******* something. Cause its clear his recruiting has not improved and bringing him back as is for more of the same **** is the definition of insanity.

The good coach thing is a little overblown. In 4 years he has 3 draft picks (4 if Bandy gets drafted). None higher than the 5th round. Jackson has no stats, Elder has been garbage, Colbert plays safety. The current CBs on the roster are average at best. Eventually you have to recruit someone to have players to coach.

Solid coach and developer... but until he recruits good players he’s never going to have any legitimate NFL corners. Just continue to have a bunch of serviceable college guys

Next staff will have 1-2 CB on the entire roster by the time we get rid of Rumph.

Barry and Stubbs should’ve already been gone regardless of what the next OC has to say. Both are awful recruiters and neither are a good enough coach to make a case to stay.
We can always put under achieving brick handed former 4-starwide receivers at DB. We are stacked in that category.
Problem solved. All it takes is some optimism my friend.

So hold on. Let me get this straight. The same ones *****ing this morning about Manny making Rumph "appear" to be the scapegoat are the same ones now saying it's a bad decision to keep him? Lol which one is ??? Or just how about chill until decisions are made then react off a final decision instead of hearsay. That's what adults do.

Gonna go ahead and guess this thread gets to 35 pages. Who wants to bet?

This would have been the case before this past offseason. However, new members post new threads when Blake James sneezes or Alonzo Highsmith gives another strong twitter take. No chance this hits more than 15.

I wouldn’t have been mad if they fired Rumph..but the defensive staff ain’t the reason we are 6-7 either. Unless you think this is 1989 where any college team can hold another team to less then 15 ppg. Those days are long gone.

8 teams held opponents under 15 ppg, so technically it’s possible. 23 teams had a better scoring defense than Miami.

Did I mention Fire Manny, Blake and the BoTs? Yes, fire them all.

I don't believe this. No one knows what will happen but that speculation is 50% at best considering up till now he was gone. Since we've never seen how Diaz will react we shouldn't assume anything yet.

Yep but you’ve also got a dog **** recruiter at WR and continue to lose transfers there. move over a few guys to CB and the WR problem is exactly the same as the current CB problem

LMFAO. As if I expected Manny to make the logical move and fire his buddies. Whatever man. DB depth is razor thin, we’ll continue to watch Rumph whiff. No way should anyone aside from maybe stroud be kept on the defensive side. Manny is just digging his own grave deeper.

Yeah I'm not buying it either, where's theres smoke theres fire. Don't think you go back on a decision like this if Manny made up his mind to get rid of Rumph.
