Coaching, Salaries and the Coastal

As for Enos and a direct source for his salary, I have not seen his contract and the form 990 is a few years behind (won’t know officially whether he is on Part VII for some time). I have no direct source today.

As for indirect and circumstantial:

1. Enos was scheduled to make ~$1MM at Bama before we hired him. He was an assistant and not a coordinator when he had said contract.
2. If we “assume” he got a raise to come here, this puts him somewhere north of said amount.
3. We were told that Miami was going to pay “big money” for an OC.
4. His salary is probably somewhere in the range of what was posted.

I stopped here. You have nothing to add to the convo and you continue to porst.

Great porsting!

You're funny (but spelling not so good on this one).
I know you read the whole post, but that's also okay.

If you would have initially responded to me with your post from 3 minutes prior to the post you made immediately above (you know the one where you didn't reply to me but actually did respond to my questions about Enos' salary) we could have eliminated at least two wonderful exchanges between us. LOL

I will, however, do my best to limit my posting on this thread for the rest of the year.

I stopped here. Spelling? I didn’t read your whole porst so you’re doing a chitty job of stalking me.

So to review...Your porsting added nothing to the convo. Cool beans and keep porsting!

Before I begin, the goal isn’t simply to win the Coastal, as that is an incredibly low bar. The point is to further explain who we’re competing with on a regular basis as we play six games against these teams in the Coastal.

As you read the post below, I present the following questions:
  • If you were starting from scratch, which HC(s) in the Coastal would you hire?
  • If you were starting from scratch, which coordinators in the Coastal would you want?
  • If it isn’t the money, what is holding us back from dominating the Coastal?
As a frame of reference, Dan Enos was paid $1,500,000 last season. The second highest salary for a coordinator in the Coastal was Bud Foster at $1,000,000.

Please Note:
  • Duke (like Miami) is a private school. They’re not required to share their salaries and I couldn’t find any information about them.
  • I couldn’t find a source for Pittsburgh and their salaries for assistant coaches/coordinators. If someone can find one, I will gladly update.
Duke

HC: David Cutcliffe ($2,670,000)

OC: Zac Roper

Co-DCs: Ben Albert and Matt Guerrieri

Total Assistant Salaries:

Georgia Tech

HC: Geoff Collins ($3,000,000)

OC: Dave Patenaude ($400,000)

DC: Andrew Thacker ($450,000)

Total Assistant Salaries: $3,205,000 [Brent Key is their highest paid coach and not a coordinator at $600,000]

Dan Enos made more than both coordinators and Brent Key combined. Dan Enos was paid ~50% of GT’s total allotment for assistant salaries.

North Carolina

HC: Mack Brown ($3,500,000)

OC: Phil Longo ($600,000)

Co-DCs: Jay Bateman ($600,000) and Phil Longo (600,000)

Total Assistant Salaries: $4,075,000

Dan Enos made almost as much (~84%) as their three coordinators combined and was paid ~37% of UNC’s total allotment for assistant salaries.

Pitt

HC: Pat Narduzzi ($3,214,000)

OC: Mark Whipple

DC: Randy Bates

Total Assistant Salaries:

Virginia

HC: Bronco Mendenhall ($3,700,000)

OC: Robert Anae ($550,000)

Co-DCs: Nick Howell ($550,000) and Kelly Poppinga ($375,000)

Total Assistant Salaries: $3,400,000

Dan Enos made more than their three coordinators combined. Dan Enos was paid 44% of UVA’s total allotment for assistant salaries.

Virginia Tech

HC: Justin Fuente ($4,000,000)

OC: Brad Cornelsen ($490,000)

DC: Bud Foster ($1,000,000)

Total Assistant Salaries: $3,670,000

Dan Enos made more than both of their coordinators combined. Dan Enos was paid ~41% of VT’s total allotment for assistant salaries.

what you aren’t recognizing is that miami is a pitt-level program. Coordinators aren’t changing anything

youre asking what holds miami back from winning the coastal. Thats like asking what holds pitt back from winning the coastal.

The program is a low-tier P5 program and the results are commensurate with that. There’s zero reason to expect anything different than what weve been getting.

In other words we got a lemon

So we spend more, have more talent and more tradition but we should expect the same results? Genius!
pitt has a similar tradition that has since faded into obscurity. UM is on the same exact path.

There is zero reason to suggest UM should “expect” different results when it has been shuffling coordinators and coaches for nearly 2 decades with the same results each time. The program is what it is

LOL, whatever you say and you're of course entitled to your opinion.
Not gonna get into minutia mode
Thanks though for ultimately responding to me.

Happy Holidays !!

That isn’t true and makes zero sense.

I am glad I am entitled to my opinion as to whether I read your porst.

It makes plenty of sense. You think UM should be getting better “results” except the results on the field say that miami is a low tier p5 program that averages about 5 losses a season. Spending more money does not change that

You didn’t read the original post or it is over your head but thanks for adding your thoughts.
