Except this coach is never going to allow his team to be 4-8

Big fan of Coach Cig; but, to be fair, IU has played an absolutely **** schedule. I’m w/ @HurricanePhilly on this, it’s a bit premature to extend a guy after 10 games, playing a schedule that’s gone a combined 41-54 on the season, w/ their best win coming against 6-5 UW.

But, on the other hand, I get where IU is coming from; Coach Cig is going to be a hot name for any high profile coaching job that come up, & he’ll legit be the best coach they’ll ever have, so y not lock him up & deter any potential poaching.

I totally agree that his Big 10 schedule has been soft, but he can beat the majority of teams in that conference on a consistent basis and will find a way to pull an upset every now and then. He will not go 10-0 every season but he will never suck either.
IU had to make a choice, lock him up right now or lose him at the end of the season. They will never get a coach better than him, so this is the chance to make it happen.

Longo got fired, mostly because he took a job that honestly, he should have known better than to take. Wisconsin will NEVER allow for a modern spread, and that's what Longo does. Longo will end up going somewhere and reverting right back to the terror he was at UNC, I doubt he magically forgot how to develop QBs...
I’ll go ahead and bet he ends up with Norvell or Venables

he seemed to be reluctant to replace Locke, too. The next guy up, Mettauer, supposedly wasn't ready. Their boards seem to think Mettauer will start the last two games and Locke will leave the program. Locke's brother is committed to Wisconsin, too
