Coaching Coaching Carousel 2024 - 2025 - Not Miami Related

The only intriguing one would be longo. I’m sure he knew he ****ed up watching Tyler Van Dyke and Locke duke it out in spring

I mean, come on, what exactly is umass expecting? Either disband your football program or leave a guy there for 10 years and see if he can get something cranked out. They’re in Massachusetts FFS.

Saw on twitter before they rehired Don Brown, Curt Cignetti expressed interest. Of course that was when he was still at Elon. But a lot of talented FCS coaches are in the Northeast. No reason to stick with a washed 60+ HC

Most likely UMass attempting to better position themselves before joining the MAC starting next year 2025.

I was thinking Jason Taylor would be a candidate there.

Ray Lewis looks pretty cool on the surface but asking HOFers to come out of doing nothing and get into that is not a good move. If you want to do it, get someone like JT who has shown willingness to do the grind at a position coach level at least.
I don't think JT wants this. I think he wants to just coach in the NFL and progress there.

College HC is a different grind. Less coach, more salesman.

Chip Long, lmao. Ties to Norvell, that would be GREAT.

If that is their guy LOL

I can tell you who is a corch by who they hire when their back is against the wall like that. Go back to your "coaching tree" and hire someone you know and like, corch.

Rethink your ideologies, survey the landscape, hire an up and comer or innovative guy? Probably going to get it figured out. Might miss that hire but eventually it will get right. Mario dropped Gattis and went and got the anti-Gattis. Even Manny completely changed course and fired Enos and went and got Lashlee.

Chip Long, Tim Beck, Mike Bobo, Dan Enos, Jim Chaney, Andy Ludwig, etc. I'm sure the list goes on. How these guys keep getting jobs is crazy.

Sounds like it won’t actually be him for OC, unfortunately. Maybe TE coach or analyst according to their mods.

Good old boy network and favors for ‘I have a family’ colleagues will never die. So many names in coaching that no matter what stumble into $250k+ jobs

Hearing Mack Brown is going to hang it up. Virginia is exploring the idea of moving on from Tony Elliott but he could salvage his job by beating SMU and/or VT and going to a bowl. Then, VT is expected to fire Brent Pry unless he wins the next 2 games. A loss to Duke and/or Virginia is likely it for him. They're not riding out a bad coach again like they did with Fuente (at least that is what their boosters say).

3 of the top 7-8 jobs in the ACC. Curious to see how those fill up if they all come open. Carolina will have plenty of options and land a good coach. Virginia has had a lot of interest the last 2 times it has opened. Elliott wasn't a nobody at the time he was hired. They might land someone pretty solid. VT has the best pedigree of all 3 but doesn't have near the same interest in the coaching community lately.

If big jobs open up, Brent Key will be in high demand. If he leaves his alma mater, that's another program in decent shape.
