It's inconceivable that Al doesn't know there are issues. What we are not privy to is the entire context of how he views the issues. He is certainly not going to tell the public what he's thinking. Unfortunately, that gives everyone on the planet free rein to speculate.
I still expect D'Onofrio to suddenly leave to pursue other opportunities. What that will mean for Al's defense is again open to speculation. I know for sure we have a talent problem. But, I think everyone is painfully aware that it is a helluva lot more than that. The talent problem will fix itself over time. The other part will take some painful intervention, I'm afraid.
I hope for the best, and prepare mentally for the worst.
