Coach Orgeron still a FA. Corch D and Franklin getting Money

I posted this in another thread, but no chance Ed would return here. He's got history. And not the good kind.

I remember seeing that dude out at Hooligans pretty regularly, and he was a disaster. He was constantly picking fights with people and was always stumbling drunk.

Yup, and it goes way beyond that. Dude's got no shot of ever coming back here.

Uhhh that was over 20 years ago. You don't think people can change their ways with 20 years of life experience and added maturity?

What a crock. If the dude can help us win, we need to at least talk to him.

Him an kehoe are like b.est friends. If kehoe has any pull I'm sure he is in goldens ear.

If we get him we won't have dl problems again...and dude is an epic recruiter. Guys generally play hard for him.

Didn't Orgeron hire Kehoe after Clappy fired him?

He'll want to be a HC again and I believe he'll land somewhere.. I guess Al could try like he did with Mario and offer the associate HC position. I guess

You have no clue what you're talking about. I do. And I'm not referring to him being an obnoxious drunk. Nor am I talking about his antics on the practice field. There are certain things men simply can never do. If they do, then those who know about it aren't going to allow them anywhere around their business, especially a university. It's not an argument. It's a fact that he would never be welcomed back here.

This is correct.

Al isn't going to fire Jethro unless we change systems. Not sure Ed O is going to make a lateral move at this point.

Was that Ed O or Greg Mark? I think Mark had a drinking problem as well.

Kehoe knows what you are talking about, but do you think anyone in the ADmin does?

Are you guys talking about the domestic violence issues he had while here? If so Gamineal posted an article about it on the first page of this thread so there's no need to be cryptic about it. As the article says and if you've read Feldman's book Meat Market, he's genuinely remorseful of his behavior and has turned his life around. If he does want to come back and the administration blocks it for stuff 20 years ago they can go **** themselves.

You do know in the real world you're held accountable for your actions even if you've "turned your life around".

Ironic statement coming from an institution that was just found guilty of Lack of Institutional Control.

What did we use as our defense again? Oh right, "we acknowledge our mistakes, please go easy on us"

So we as an institution ask for forgiveness and leniency for our mistakes, but we would refuse to grant the same to a former employee for things that occurred a lifetime ago?

Hypocritical and weak. I'm not buying it.

I guess you missed the part where Miami got put on probation for their actions.
Try thinking outside of the hash marks for a minute.
And BTW Miami's defense was "we self imposed a great deal".

And orgeron was fired at Miami . So everyone has paid their dues , clean slate. We can play this game all day.

Don't hire the guy then. But find me another coach who has a track record of developing defensive linemen, who is a proven recruiter like this guy . The guy we have on staff sure ain't it.

It's little decisions like this to improve the program that add up and in the end make up the difference between what we were and what we have become. Jimmy Johnson wouldn't have given a **** about drunk behavior 20 years in the past. Jimmy would have done what it takes to win. Today I'm just bit sure what our priorities are sometimes.

The obsession over Orgeron is moot, he'll get another D1 Job as a HC before he even thinks of becoming the DC at Miami, so its all just a fantasy.

Ha! I miss that place. Had some good times there. Used to see Kehoe there from time to time.
