Miami will never have an ELITE defense w/ a defensive corch whose philosophy is "YARDS ALLOWED ISNT IMPORTANT ONLY POINTS ALLOWED IS" GTFOH what ELITE defensive coordinator would ever say some dumb **** like that.

Bill Belichick?

What? when he was the DC for the Giants were aggressive on D

Completely and utterly false. Having LT didn't mean the scheme is aggressive. Please learn more football before spouting nonsense. Parcells 3-4 is the opposite of the Buddy Ryan aggressive D of the era. Smfh.

parcels brought the 3-4 to miami too for the ppl that don't believe coaches don't bring their D w em.

I'm not bashing coach d but the D is giving up 445 yards a game in acc play. Only acc team that didn't complete over 60% and throw for 300+ was gt. If the D continues at the current pace it will be ranked very much lower than 32nd by season end.

Also if there was a new DC that doesn't mean he will call the game the same way because every one has different tendencies. With the same scheme golden might have been a more aggressive play caller than coach d is. Golden would also likely let a new DC modify and add some things he likes to the playbook just like coley with the O.

It's obvious most of the ppl on this site already have mediocre standards now but it's time to snap out of it....

Says the Stephen Morris nut hugger

Lol look how much of a joke u sound.... Stephen Morris is the QB of this team, the offense has way more excuses then the defense yet you are okay w/ trashing Stephen Morris, James Coley or whoever else on offense but D'onofrio is off topic????

GTFOH ****** Stephen Morris is going to be gone after this season, and i'll be supporting the next QB while u turn ur back on him 2....

D'onofrio will still be here running a mediocre defense and ruining any potential for this team's defense to be elite while you continue to cheer lead for him for reasons i dont understand.

*****for the record I have only been on the fire D'onofrio tip since the WF game, others have been feeling like that a lot longer then me.

That's a joke right? This offense was suppose to be Top 10. If you told me last year we would have the 32nd ranked Defense I would have laughed in your face. We were what 116th last year?!?!?!

I wanted Tim Walton fired in 2007 and I was young 21 yr old then..... you all really got D'onofrio's **** down ur throats so far that u are willing to have a mediocre coach just b/c what he's white like GoldenShowers views or b/c he's Al Golden's best friend who can do no wrong?

So basically you are now 27 and that makes you an expert on college football and are well enough versed to call Veteran Knowledgeable Canes fans Soft. Geyt real comparing 07 to this year is like apples and oranges as the experience and depth levels are totally unbalanced. If you were more than a toddler during our probation period in mid to late 90's you would APPRECIATE this team instead of continuously bashing them. Just be glad you weren't around in 70's when we won 41 games in decade. That is when the TRUE Canes fans stuck around and waited for the bandwagon fans to join us in 80's.

it doesnt matter..... if D'onofrio cant make "his scheme" work he's smart enough to ditch it all together. Al Golden isnt going to be running a defense himself and who else is he going to hire to run that bs?... AL Groh lol yeah right.

If you all want an elite defense w/ a strong recruiter D'onofrio has to go, simple as that, then you all would be able to stop bashing the players for once.

ok coach

Most of yall are blind and need to be enlightened and thats what i'm hear to do

I forgot more about Canes football than you will ever know BEFORE you were born LOSER.

Randy's biggest problem was lack of continuity and bad coaching decisions that lead to his downfall.

Good job good effort....negged

VT doesnt have 5 star talent across the board and Bud Foster gets it done.

Yeah, I thought holding Boston College to a mere 34 points was pure genius, especially after BC scored 24 points in their previous two games combined. Hail Bud Foster.

Tim Walton was fired in 2007 for having the 33rd ranked defense and most Miami fans wanted him fired.

That was Randy Shannons 1st year as a Head Coach and all of you were on his nutz at the time

So if D'onofrio's defense stays hovering in the 30's will you all set aside the standards that has already been set and let him slide for another year?

It's obvious most of the ppl on this site already have mediocre standards now but it's time to snap out of it.... the same ppl were ****ed at Tim Walton now are happy w/ D'onofrio.

You convinced me. I sent Al an email and told him your opinion. He replied that he was going to fire Mark before the FSU game, BUT he couldn't afford to meet your salary demands, and the private jet you asked for just wasn't in the budget. He did say he forwarded your resume to Saban for consideration in case Kirby Smart slips some.

We also moved UP from 116 to 32, but of course in your blind and ridiculous hatred for D'Onofrio that counts for nothing. Neither does the still very glaring holes in talent and depth at some key positions on the defense that are still being filled via recruiting.

This is the thread that will certainly get D'Onofrio fired. I think The Don was just waiting for the right reason to get rid of him, and the fact that Shanntard fired Tim Walton is it.

Yes, you're correct. Because Zone and his insightful, knowledgeable opinions carry so much weight and credibility among the coaching staff, just like he does for others on this board...oh wait, never mind.

...or, just maybe, because he has shown a great improvement over last year as the talent has slowly improved. Given that the talent is continuing to improve, there is simply zero logical or sensible basis to shake up a coaching staff that has shown improvement and has been dealing with limited talent and depth.

Go back to saying Renner is a bad QB, that worked out well for you. Didn't the 2007 defense have Kenny Phillips, Calais Campbell and and about 5-6 future NFL players on it? Maybe that's why Walton was fired.

The Canes were insignificant in the 50's and 60's, so green and orange run deep, this team needs talent and has gotten out from under the black cloud. Younger Canes fan's not having the experiences of those eras have no patience and want to fire coaches, cut players while berating them. IMHO this is goes against being a true Cane fan. Opinions are fine, precipitate dialogue is great, but dealing with obsessions is suggests strong levels of medication.

If you're trolling nice work.......if you're not, then doesn't the bolded part contradict your argument?

Lolz

Dudes would have been ecstatic with a defense ranked in the 30's before the season.

Now it doesn't fit the coach D sucks narrative so everybody who defends him has "mediocre" standards.

The only reason people would have accepted a defense ranked in the 30s this year is because his absolute **** defense last year lowered our standards. But those standards aren't the standards of a Miami defense.

Yes, I know we were playing with D1AA players for the most part last year along the DL and a bunch of freshmen. I don't want to say he gets a pass for that, but I can understand why we stunk so bad. We barely had talent.

But a Miami defense ranked 32 is not good by Miami standards. I expect next season our defense be ranked top 20. Is that fair?
