7-0 has nothing to do with lbs covering wrs on a regular basis. Ask yourself this. How many times have our lbs won this battle that u can remember?

I remember shawn Merriman was step for step with a receiver on a out route.

I remember luke kuehly step for with one of our wrs.

I remember courtney upshaw and donta Hightower shutting down florida receivers

All the those LBs were 260+, so to say its dumb is ignorance. I have seen that employed several times, and work to perfection. Problem is we dont have any fluid LBs, only guy on the roster that could do it is probably Figatron. Plus you need to collapsed the pocket for that scheme to work. You need 3 who can beat a double team on a consistent basis. We might have 1 1/2..porter/piere

Youre talking about NFL pro bowlers and starters first off. Those are supremely talented lbs you're talking about. But for every time you can remember them covering a slot wr, how many times did they lose that same battle?

Since were talking about some of the best players in the world here, think about this. If Peyton Manning, Drew Brees or Tom Brady saw that you were covering the slot receiver with a lb on a regular basis. Would they even bother to throw to anyone else while racking up 300+ yards passing for the game?
