One aspect of CMR recruiting should really be taken under consideration. He's a devout Christian and makes that well known. That's definitely a positive influence for many recruits and especially their parents. The thing that concerns me is that the effectiveness that had in Georgia was much bigger than than it's ever going to be in the state of Miami. Dade, Broward, and PBC isn't the Bible Belt where CMR has spent most of his time recruiting the past two decades. Sure CMR got some big name FL recruits here and there but this is a whole new ballgame. Richt was slow in making changes to the offense this season. Let's hope he's just slow on modifying recruiting strategies also. He might not be able to recruit south FL like we all want. Maybe some of the position coaches were bad hires also. Yes, I'm calling out Dugans and his Donk.

It's a fact that 1st year head coaches get their best classes at UM. Make all the excuses you want. 1st year guys everywhere get a bump at big name programs. There's a legitimate reason here for concern. This is something we should know for sure next cycle. Bottom line there's no good excuse to lose out on all the top WRs and TEs with the overwhelming tradition of NFL players and the lack of talent on the roster at those positions.

Rick may be a christian but he's not retarded, he doesn't just blindly shove his faith down every recruit's throats if they don't believe in it.

We have lip service Christians like Harry Beudy who pray on it and then go play for the devil.

Meh...I'm honestly not concerned with this class. I think most of these incoming guys will be coached up well and player development will be key. It's not like we're bringing in trash. These cats are all good football players. Show me one that you don't believe has a chance to be successful at the next level.

//I will say I don't like Dugans and wish we kept KB

Half this coaching staff is extremely religious. It's like having 5 or 6 Tebows around and some people don't mind but others are turned off by it.If the team wins this would be a non factor if they don't all this would start coming out.

My god (pun intended), Dugans is ridiculous with his constant god/religious tweets. I stopped following him as it was way too much. This would be a giant turn off for me as a recruit, but luckily I am in my mid 30s, 5'10" and would probably run a 6 second 40 so I don't have to worry about these things.

Seriously though, I assume this plays well to some recruits, I just don't get it.

Football period is involved with religious folk. Most teams pray the Lords prayer before every game. That's on all levels. Most coaches are religious...from Mike Leach to Mark Richt. Being a Christian does not mean you live like a Saint. We are sinners. There's just an understanding that our higher power died for our sins.

This religous stuff is getting overblown.

Cmon now, the man recruited in the SEC during its golden years and succeeded. He knows what he is doing there......

Dabo Swinney is just as religious as Richt, you hear it in every interview he does. Not a hinderance in any way

Yeah, to me that is.

I actually like this class. If we get the two OL's from Heritage to go with the other three we have plus the db's we have will solve a lot of problems we had this year.

Rep'd up, class is underrated

Richt's Christian beliefs are hurting Miami with recruits from Syria, Saudi Arabia, Afganistan, and other Muslim countries and regions. Over time this will put Miami at a huge disadvantage.

Lol in thinking the climate in recruiting in metro Atlanta is that much different than south Florida. It's not at all

Richt gives all the players bibles but does that include Bar Milo? Seems a little awkward

Dabo Swinney may have forced his players to attend service. He's as big of a Jesus freak as they come. Doesn't seem to hurt him.

Why because he's ******? They believe in God and Jesus. They just don't believe Jesus was the Messiah.
