Churches are a tax exempt business(some major scum of the earth take people’s faith and use it to turn a huge profit). They brainwash employees and the higher ups get more wealthy then athletes. You don’t have to pay taxes on your money then the feds will never get involved. What resources do you think that assistant coach is talking about. The former pastor was a huge Clemson fan. The timeline of the rise of that church and the rise of the Clemson program are almost spot on. Dabo is a huge advocate of faith and specifically New Spring and the players all attend the church. The writing is on the wall but only a select few know for sure 100% was going on. But if Dabo built a pay for player scheme through a tax exempt business it’s pretty ingenious.

I’ve gone one time when I was in Greenville and everyone there is drinking the koolaid. The pastor was a lunatic, but he broke down religion to be funny and easier to connect with for the younger generation. But where you see some of these churches blow up and buy private jets or Lamborghini’s this one seems to pay college football player. It also is a mutualistic relationship bc the publicity with the football players attending the church is going to attract more fans and younger people to the church.

WRONG! Im going to give you pass and assume you haven’t been paying attention to Clem$on recruiting the past few years. The vast majority of Clemson starters are from other states. The trash on the roster is from SC.

Clemson commit FACTS:
6 of 17 2018 from SC
4 of 29 in 2019 from SC (3 lowest rated players all from SC)
1 in 2020 from SC (thus far)

What is factual is that Clemson is taking less and less from SC because they are paying for players from other states and winning.

Dude straight up admitted the football team cheats. But they are a cash cow for the NCAA so untouchable.

UM was a cash cow for the NCAA at one point, too. It’s about reporters with little or no loyalty these days. They switch jobs all the time. The second they get a bump they switch sides. They all know this is the game today to move up. Mid level reporters make nothing. Top reporters make player money. So they aren’t going to risk calling out teams unless it really juicy. Paying players isn’t juicy anymore even though is a huge infraction. It’s not worth exposing a team with minimal coverage that will blackball you from interviews in the future.
It used to be the majority of reporters stayed with a team’s and in the general area. This has all changed with technology.

NewSpring was big well before Dabo, the difference was Tommy Bowden didn't deal with NewSpring. He attended Rock Springs. Grant it, Rock Springs has plenty of money. It isn't anything like NewSpring. Once Dabo became the coach and Perry Noble being the celebrity he wish he was, he began their funding. NewSpring is the hip new contemporary church whereas Rock Springs is the old southern Baptist. Tommy paid, but not like Dabo. Clayton King, new pastor, also a huge Clemson fan wasn't going to stop the funds. It's no coincidence NewSpring built a "campus" literally 5 to 10 mins walking distance from the stadium. The Anderson campus pulled all the students from Clemson anyway so there was really no incentive until Dabo put in a word. Every Clemson fan will deny bc they swear Clemson is winning bc of God. Truth is, Dabo is a snake and arrogant af. I hate Clemson with a passion.

NewSpring lost a lot of members once Perry Noble was booted as pastor. He truly had a cult following which is why I refused to go there. He posts crazy stuff on fb now all the time.

Honestly, it’s our fault.

This is what happens when u leave the keys to the Ferrari to imbeciles. Whether it’ sleeping on the job, overly recruiting a couple of schools while willfully neglecting others, hiring a sales guy to coach, or hiring a guy way past his prime, our fence has been broken, trampled on, and utterly destroyed.

Our only defense against this onslaught was winning, and producing....not new buildings. Once the winning stopped, once we stopped producing 1st round picks, this was the inevitable. The ? will be, can we rebuild the fence and provide the lore we once had that will be able to convince some our elites to stay home?
