Box safety. The knock on him was his cover ability and lack of speed.S Taylor rapp Washington. 4.75 and 4.77 at his combine and pro day

Several plays where he got there late and just jumped in. He looks solid in a phone booth when he can just play the run.Tell me that this kid looks like a 4.9 on film
I aint seen it yetCorey Flagg
There are a lot of guys who are good in hs ball. It's about projecting to the next level. You guys are knocking the speed like he’s a project who hasn’t done it and we’re projecting him.
The kid has performed at the highest level. Not some 1a north Florida comp. he’s currently doing everything you keep saying he Isn’t able to do. He can only do so much at the hs level and he’s doing it. Not sure what more you can ask for at this juncture in his career.

He’d have committed two years agoIf this kid was performing this way in south Florida and we didn’t offer we’d be screaming at the staff
As best as I recall most of late '80's LBs were not better than 4.9. Rod Carter, Randy Shannon, George Mira Jr., Tiger Clark we're not particularly fast. Recall their 40 times from the media guide. They made good decisions, were not out of position much, diagnosed plays well, etc.I like this kid I do and some people here do know I liked him when I saw his film but the other and this thread will feel like that meeting room with Donofrio arguing with Brown about the Safety lol. I cant put no excuses for that 40 for my boy Flagg thats bad, I like him but hate that number.
Ha! That was Lamont Green coming out of HS. Guy who was always running to catch the bus. Another overrated FSU LB.Kid is graduating early and will get a spring under his belt. Wouldn’t be shocked if this kid is a 4 year starter and leads the team in tackles.
Not sure how many “piling on” plays you saw. Maybe a couple but let’s not pretend that was most of his tape.
This.People still talk about his 40 time. Lol I’d bet money that with proper technique he’d post a faster time. After that I wonder what else y’all would complain about.
I don't remember the exact number but I'd bet my left nut that it's over 30". That's a pretty good vert for a 5'10" 230 lb. kid. That vertical, his shuttle time and the film tell me that his 40 can improve. What I'm most impressed with is his coverage skills. Most shorter, stockier LB's tend to turn into a ball of nerves when in pass coverage. His COD speed and good fluidity make up for his lack of length (although it looks like he has longer arms for a short kid) and most importantly, he seems comfortable when the ball is in the air...
His diagnostic skills are not only tremendous - they're so quick.
He's seeing things a good half second faster than most other LB's - and gets a jump in that manner.
Quick mind - quick reaction.
