Champagnat and T Valentine with NCAA

I did doubt his getting clearance in the smallest sense, but I should have known. He magically gets cleared nearing the deadline just like Rashad Robinson last year at L$U. They are in desperate need for DT depth too, right?

Am I reading his response correctly. I do realize my iq is above 90 but I think he just stated that the ncaa did not clear him but the sec did. Does the new rule actually give them that power. If so we are flucked. No way acc will do that. From now on you got a diploma and your in? Maybe They Don't Even Need To Take Tha act Anymore.

Valentine Cleared By The NCAA

LSU's final piece to the 2014 class is now cleared to enroll at LSU.

On Monday morning, four-star defensive tackle Travonte Valentine got the go-ahead from the NCAA Clearinghouse to enroll at LSU for the fall semester, meaning the incoming freshman is officially on the depth chart at defensive tackle, where the Tigers are in need of more depth.

247Sports national recruiting analyst Ryan Bartow spoke with Champagnat head coach Mike Tunsil, and word is that Valentine was cleared this morning, will arrive on campus in Baton Rouge on Tuesday evening and then begin practicing with the Tigers on Wednesday. Valentine is now scheduled to begin his coursework with the rest of the team when classes begin on Monday.

Valentine finished his senior season ranked as the No. 3 defensive tackle prospect in the country, and LSU defensive line coach Brick Haley is hoping the true freshman can step in and deliver reps in the rotation right away despite enrolling less than two weeks before the season opener.

"It is very hard for a true freshman to come in and play at that position and be a starter, but you can get a guy like him ready to give you some valuable minutes and rest some guys and give them an opportunity to have some life at the end of the game," Haley said. "You can put him in some situations to be successful. I am looking forward to that.

"Hopefully he’s going to be in really good condition. If he’s not, he’s going to be behind. That’s normally the reason why guys don’t start as true freshmen. They do get behind and they have a lot to learn and it’s a lot on their bodies. But you can always get a young guy to come in and give you valuable minutes to rest some of those other guys."

Kid said one of the reasons he wanted to go to LSU instead of Miami was because he wasn't going to be forced into action right away. Said he wanted to be able to learn/grow/sit, blah blah blah.. Now he's going to go in and play within two weeks of arriving on campus?

Seems legit. :cigar:

Wasn't it something along the lines of the "pressure" to play right away...lulz, and he actually got cleared after attending K Mart Plaza High?

Am I reading his response correctly. I do realize my iq is above 90 but I think he just stated that the ncaa did not clear him but the sec did. Does the new rule actually give them that power. If so we are flucked. No way acc will do that. From now on you got a diploma and your in? Maybe They Don't Even Need To Take Tha act Anymore.
I hope I read this wrong. If my assumption is correct college football will never be the same. No more juco. Every 4 or 5 star that can't qualify will end up in Alabama and lsu. .

Where do you see that it says the SEC cleared him? I dont think that is the case...the NCAA still exists, for now.

Alright folks! Let's have some levity. This ship has officially sailed away! The NCAA has cleared Mike Tunsil's Champagnat operation, at the cubano strip Mall or not. Might has well stop the hating, jealousy, and the fact that UM will be facing L$U in a couple of years, and TV will have to be reckoned with.

...did Chad Thomas say that TV could do whatever and go wherever he wants...huh, I worry about who's here dawg!

Personally, I know that MWyche and CHeurtelou will have way more impact on the U defense than Valentine could ever have for this 2014 Season.

Wonder Y they wouldn't let Wyche in early in jan. Yet ncaa 'newly' gave power to the big V $ EC rules.

It was the ACC not the NCAA that kept Wyche out

I know I shouldn't care, but I do. The clearinghouse has cost us players with far fewer red flags than Valentine. My jimmies are rustled.

We play them in 2018 right? I doubt he will still be on the roster by then. LSU sells a lot of there recruits of being 3 years and pro

Per LSU, DT Travonte Valentine going through 'final phases of admission process.' Not yet cleared.

Valentine is a cancer, very talented but a cancer! When your mentor is someone like Genron, you are officially damaged goods. I'm glad he didn't come here, wonder how that K Mart diploma will treat him if football doesn't work out?
