Champagnat and T Valentine with NCAA

Valentine is a cancer, very talented but a cancer! When your mentor is someone like Genron, you are officially damaged goods. I'm glad he didn't come here, wonder how that K Mart diploma will treat him if football doesn't work out?

i hate to do this but here goes - judging by his tweets it isn't going to do him any good.

"@mattyports typical hater lol you mad cuz you finto see me on tv and you couch"

The ****?
The fact that he put "finto" shows me everything about his academic abilities. it's a slang word but I have never seen anybody write it out especially to a writer who proving a point lol

***** that, I'm still rustled that he didn't come here, we desperately need a talent infusion at DT, huge miss last year, much bigger than guys like Cook or Lane

My guess is this kid will find it tough to stay eligible at lsu much less Miami, doubt they missed much.

Ah shut up with the bull****. First off you don't know if he's a cancer. The kid got in and congrats to him. If he stayed committed to us and just got cleared you'd be jerking yourself off to the news. Please enough with the self righteous bull****.

I'm mad cause the kid will probably be a stud and we missed out on him.

I agree! We all know we needed and wanted TV as bad as anyone in the 2014 class. He phucked us, but if he as good as projected then so be it. If not then be happy he went elsewhere, but stop the foolishness.

Sick of hearing about him. We wanted him. Shady **** ensued. He is gone now. Don't care what happens to him --- not because of him going elsewhere, but the way it happened and the shenanigans.

Posted Today on the LSU Site:

Travonte Valentine plans to arrive in Baton Rouge on Saturday and start school Monday, but those plans could change, he said Thursday evening.

Valentine, LSU’s four-star defensive tackle signee from Florida, is awaiting clearance from the Southeastern Conference to join the football team. Valentine has been admitted into school and has been cleared by the NCAA.

“I think there’s a few people that don’t want me to play in the SEC,” Valentine said, “and I’m pretty sure who it is, but I’m not going to say.”

Valentine suggested that he was referring to another SEC school.

The SEC office did not immediately return a message for comment on Valentine’s situation.

Valentine remains at his home in Hialeah, Florida, a suburb of Miami.

Valentine, a hotly recruited player ranked in the top five at his position nationally, was offered scholarships by nine SEC schools. He de-committed from Louisville, Miami and Florida before picking LSU on National Signing Day.

Valentine said LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is expected to meet with his mother to discuss the ordeal more Thursday night. He did not have any more information on what the SEC was looking into.

Valentine transferred high schools after his junior season.

Coach Les Miles on Tuesday said Valentine is expected to arrive in the next “two to three days.”

“There’s another administrative hurdle, if you will, that it has to go back through certain channels including the conference,” Miles said. “It’s a new legislation, if you will, based on guys who would get qualified late.”

Valentine would immediately begin practicing with the Tigers once cleared, the coach said. However, Valentine cannot immediately begin working out in full pads. He’ll have to sit through the NCAA’s mandated acclimation period.

No. 13 LSU begins the 2014 season Aug. 30 against No. 14 Wisconsin.

Valentine is ranked as the No. 3 defensive tackle in the 2014 class by 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. He was the ninth-best player out of Florida this year and was the only freshman in LSU’s No. 2-ranked signing class not to have started practice with the Tigers on Aug. 4.

It’s unclear how big of a role Valentine could have this season. He’s beginning practice more than two weeks late, and LSU’s defensive tackle position is young but somewhat deep.

The sliding scale pretty much destroyed competitive balance amongst conferences. It also encourages shopping mall high schools. ******* joke system.

Really he thinks somebody in the SEC doesnt want him in. The SECs prob the one the payed off the NCAA to clear him in the first place.

Kid is going to gain about 50 pounds sitting on the couch eating Debbie snacks waiting for this result. He seems very ****y and not humble at all. The more he says they are going to delay. I didn't even know the SEC had to look at the paper work stuff too. They probably trying to figure of its a degree or shopping receipt from that school

Hope it was us. Sick and tired of us trying to compete with these teams while at the same time trying to play everything down the middle. **** that.

These schools are cutthroat and a bunch of them tried to bury us when the NCAA was sniffing around. Time to get down on their level. If Valentine wants to **** us around and do the whole "business decision" thing, then he should understand it ain't personal, it's just good God damned business for us to torpedo him.

And before someone does the whole "he's just a 17 year old kid thing", I know and I actually agree with you. I am way overreacting and worst of all acting like an SEC fan. But I am so ******* pumped up for the season to start and I have nothing to channel my energy in to as I sit at my desk for another 5 hours while the sun is shining outside, fiddling with my Excel and trying to keep the Youtubing to a minimum.

Ironically, the "reason" he didn't want to come here is because he thought we would make him put on weight...

I wish the kid nothing but the best but I honestly don't know why you all are continuing to bump the thread, at this point what does this have to do with UM football?

That was one of about 20 excuses the kid used to not come here.
