cb coach chevis jackson to wake forest

And he was quite possibly our worst DB recruiter ever. He couldn’t even bring in kids he had coached their entire lives
We are still missing dbs left to right even when we have nil backing now. Not a rumph problem , it’s a Miami recruiting db problem that has been an issue for quite some time.

Sure Campbell miss look bad at the time but that was to a program producing high draft talent at the position, winning championships and dropping more bags than Miami had at the time.

What would rumph recruiting look like now with nil?

Let them free graze, brother. They aren't going anywhere anyway.
someone would have hired rumph already. he either has said no, got no other offers, and/or stuck around in an off field role voluntarily. hes staying put.

clean out the entire d staff. idc for JT, D Nick. Joe and Chevis along w Guidry are all finally gone.

Y'all know who we should bring back?

Before y'all cuss me out..... think about this....

The last time our db recruiting class was on fire was when we had.......

Who was the best coach we had at cb in the last 20 years? It was rumph by far. All these guys made the nfl and if not for injury young would have made it too

Malek young
Adrian colbert
Corn elder
Mike jackson
Trajan bandy
Dee Delaney

So jason Taylor can go from high school to College ball but ED Reed who coached for the bills and Jets in the NFl can’t do it! I don’t understand please explain sir
Lol yes, I know that you don't understand.
You are trying to compare Jason Talyor who coached at a top-level HS for 5 years where in HS you have to teach fundamentals and coach defense to Ed Reed who got an assistant DB coaching job in the NFL for one year because Rex Ryan was taking care of him. A job that requires little instruction and where the word was, he put little effort into. Then he gets hired to the Manny staff and again put little effort into that Chief of Staff nonsense. Then he shows terrible judgement by taking the BC job without looking into it, when everyone in the coaching community in HS and college knew that it was a disaster of a situation. Then he goes on social media and acts like a fool so that they would get rid of him because he immediately wanted to quit but knew that would look bad.
Ed Reed is my favorite Cane player ever and I go back to 1986. But he has no business being on the sideline of a college program that is serious about trying to win. He would never recruit hard for Mario and will give zero effort.

You're right. I agree coaching wise. I was just talking about recruiting tho. Trob at the time had us with like three 4star dbs committed all at one time I believe.

Every db who started under him made it to nfl

Trying to remember all the CBs that started games in that span provides some painful context... Corn Elder (5th), Colbert (7th... moved to safety), Delaney (UDFA), Malek Young (medically retired), Bandy (UDFA), Mike Jackson (5th), Dean (UDFA), Ivey (7th), Al Blades, Jr. (UDFA... moved to safety), and Couch (UDFA).

sheldrick redwine, Jamal Carter,Jquan Johnson at safety. Corn, Colbert, Mike Jackson, Young before he was hurt, and al blades before he was hurt all played well under him. Bandy wasnt bad either. everyone blamed him for recruiting but we saw Manny was the problem. once golden guys left, Manny felt apart.

Those guys played safety and had a safeties coach, no? Or am I imagining things in my head?
