Carson Beck

Does no one think Trader can be that WR1 next year? It's not uncommon for true freshman WRs to do it. Here we have Trader who was a very high level recruit and has a year of college training and some game experience now.
I wish, but looking at the Top 40 WR in terms of receiving yards this season, there are two (I might have missed one) underclassmen and one of them is Jeremiah Smith.

Can he be the guy down the road? For sure. But next year is pushing it, especially since he played so sparingly this season and isn't a physical freak.

So our roster will consist of 3 straight #1 acc classes and the #1 acc portal class (including a qb who is the #1 overall player). We will have a broyles award semifinalist oc returning and a fresh chance to pick our dc with presumably a decent budget to do so. Expectations should be very high and it is a huge failure if mario can’t get us to Charlotte at a minimum

so you think someone with worse stats, worse advanced metric stats, worse scout grades, that played against worse competition would be better

got it
I know the original argument was about QBR and passing (and I agree with you). I also think Beck is excellent.

But I also think it is nearly impossible to compare the two (at least at the college level). You mentioned the competition for starters, but Beck also had the MUCH better offensive line, he also had ~100 more attempts.

More than anything, it is impossible to undersell how good Mateer was as a runner. He would have gone for more than 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns without sack yards included.

Look the hypothetical is irrelevant, but I'd pick Mateer just because he is more dynamic and Beck's injury.

But I would be absolutely STOKED to have Beck and do think he is the more polished passer and better pro prospect.

I agree but what if your only way to get Smith was allowing OSU to win the title. Would you do it?

Its Friday GIF by HBO Max

Genuine question, was it strictly the Ole Miss game that got this “Awful offensive line” thing going? I’ve watched every snap of Clemson, Bama, UF, and now the first half of Tennessee and they’re not even getting close to him, save a couple of plays here and there.

The receivers are truly horrible though. I knew they were bad but god****.

I guess you aren't aware that the RB coach Merritt is the one that determines who is in the game on each series.

I doubt that.

There's no discussions during the week right?

But if you're right then that mfer needs fired. Because from about mid-october, Fletcher was simply nowhere near Martinez's level.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that is EXACTLY what happens at every level of the team ... the coach of that group sets the rotations.

We still lost a ton at skill position talent on offense and so much hinges on the DC hire. Can't get too excited just yet.
Agreed that DC will be a big one but I think Mario’s gets it right, and that DC will have a variety of talent to work with, & statistically we have the most talented team in the Mario era, as it stands currently our potential 2025 lineup could be:

QB: Carson Beck / Luke Nickle
RB: Mark fletcher/Jordan Lyle/ Girard Pringle/transfer
WR: CJ Daniels/Chance Robinson
WR: Jojo Trader/RayRay Joseph/Malachi Toney
WR: Ny Carr/Joshua Moore (transfer would be liked here)
TE: Alex Bauman/Eijah Lofton/Brock Schott
RT: Francis Mauigoa
RG: Anez Cooper
C: James brockermyer
LG: Matthew McCoy/SJ
LT: Markell Bell

DE: Reuben Bain/Marquis Lightfoot/Cole Mconathy
DT: David Blay/Joshua Horton/ Artavious Jones
DT: Justin Scott/Ahmad Moten/Armondo Blount
DE: Ahkeem Messidor/Booksr Pickett/Hayden Lowe

LB: Wesley Bissainthe/Cam Pruitt/Bobby Washington
LB: Popo Aguirre/Chase Smith
CB: OJ Frédérique/Ethan O’Connor
NCB: Ethan O'Connor/Xavier Lucas
S: Xavier Lucas/Markieth Williams
S: Zachariah Poyser/Zaquan Patterson
CB: Charles Brantley/Emmanuel Karnley

Our strengths would be: OL, DB, QB, & DL in that order

If we can manage to add a: WR (which there are reports if we land Beck a current elite WR would be predicting to join too so there’s that), RB for depth to replace AJay Allen, a starter caliber LB & a young depth piece WR then we are set up to make our first CFP appearance next season imo

They were bad vs ND also, but that was mostly due to Stockton being ******* terrible.

Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida had him in **** he was 5 TD 10 INT in those 4 games.

Tennessee and Clemson he had really nice games with 4 TD 0 INT in those 2 games.

Elite against GT and Auburn - 7 TD 0 INT

Have to figure out how to replicate Tennessee Clemson GT and Auburn performances. 11 TD 0 INT in those 4 games. That’s what we need.
Simple. Have WRs that can get open because Dylan Bell as a No. 1 is shameful
