I'm a fan of beck, and he's honestly the best we could hope for going into portal season - could not have worked out better for us

Does no one think Trader can be that WR1 next year? It's not uncommon for true freshman WRs to do it. Here we have Trader who was a very high level recruit and has a year of college training and some game experience now.

Nuss too but Dart and Nuss both played an extra half since beck got injured in the first half of the SEC championship while dart and nuss both played their bowl games.

Yeah, this board has been tearing down every qb in the portal but Mateer for not being Cam.

But he’s no worse than Riley Leonard or these other QB’s. It’s defense that’s sets them apart.

Beck is better than Leonard
But agree defense is needed to win

I guess you aren't aware that the RB coach Merritt is the one that determines who is in the game on each series.

because he beat some mountain west teams and won 9 games?

beck was legitimately still seen as a first round QB as recently as 2 months ago by some scouts, he'll be fine

in beck's "bad" year, he finished 8th in QBR, in Mateer's best year(against G5), he finished 34th

I wish, but looking at the Top 40 WR in terms of receiving yards this season, there are two (I might have missed one) underclassmen and one of them is Jeremiah Smith.

Can he be the guy down the road? For sure. But next year is pushing it, especially since he played so sparingly this season and isn't a physical freak.
 
If part of your argument is “You didn’t know who this guy was 6 months ago” you’re making a stupid argument.
