HEY!

Why put the man in the grave early!!! See below.............. Grandfather is alive and well.
[and 'no', Elodia's children and grand-children are not related to Fernando.]

Mendoza’s grandfather Alberto Espino was also quick to admire Mendoza’s kindness, though he admitted that he’s a little biased. He calls this bias, this innate affection of a grandparent, “irrational love.”

Beyond being endlessly proud of Mendoza, Espino explained that he only has daughters and had always wanted a son. In a sense, he says Mendoza became a son to him.
Most people have 2 grandfathers.

Yep. I have friends in their recruiting dept, 1 is an analyst, and 1 in their training/s&c.. they’ve been spilling the beans on it to me.

He’s texted the guy in the recruiting dept but all in all they’ve kept it from team doctors, training staff, etc

Beyond the injury concerns and concerns over his play fall off this year.. I have my own concerns about his leadership, etc. I’ve heard some stories
The in bold ^

Cam was the consumate leader. Beck, should he come to Miami, needs to step up and be that leader, too. Never heard that about him but maybe, since it's his last hurrah, he'll be that guy.

The team is going to look for it , too. It cannot be about "him"

I watched some analysis of one of his Alabama picks. Beck changed the play and one receiver messed up the audible. It was 100% on the receiver.
I don’t want to make excuses for the guy, he turned the ball over altogether too much in 2024 but you know who turned the ball over altogether too much in 2023? Cam Ward. I mean if you add Cam’s fumbles and picks, he turned it over more than Beck. That’s what happens when competitive quarterbacks try to do too much. We bring Cam to Miami. We put him behind our line. We give him our running game and look what happened. Yeah, he took an occasional bad throw but his turnover numbers almost disappeared. Give Beck some good protection and a consistent running game and he doesn’t have to try to force throws.

Seriously how many Beck threads does this board need???

They do need to be merged. I like this one cause it's got more history.
The other thread was started in recruiting in 2018 and hadn’t had a post in 4 years. I locked that other thread and moved the new posts there over to this thread which was started on the transfer portal topic of Beck like 2 weeks ago.

At least him sitting out in the spring gives time for other leaders to development and cement their spot. Also anchored by an OL returning nearly 4000 snaps. Should be plenty of leadership on the squad.

The defense should be much improved. The offense will take a step back to like 35 points a game but the team overall is likely better. As long as Beck doesn’t have a backbone the equivalent of overcooked spaghetti like TVD we should be fine. I don’t think that’s the case, I’ve seen Beck play with some fire.
