Cam was too much quarterback imo. We needed him in a year where the defense was abysmal.

I'd looked into it when Beck hit the portal and read Purdy began his throwing regimen in late May. So he was throwing a football (albeit limited and on a plan) about 2.5 months post surgery.

If my wife or daughter were, say, Cindy Crawford or Elle Macpherson in their primes, I wouldn't try to put a burqa on them and prevent them from earning a salary.

The "wife or daughter" example is so ridiculous. And controlling.

Agreed but I think they were using it in the context of Lamar Jackson kind of running. I’ve read it in at least one other place too but I don’t know what they are looking at.

Even those who were excited about Ward when he committed could (should) probably admit that they didn't think he'd be THAT great for us this year

knowing that we probably won't have a QB like ward again in our lifetime can be a little disheartening

BUT

at this point in their careers (before committing to Miami), Beck is more highly regarded and has accomplished a ton more

Very excited for Beck and a new DC and completely wiped away the negativity that I had leading into ND.

Excellent job by Mario - also, I have to imagine Dawson got some offers, retaining him (to this point and no reason he'd walk away from a job with Beck as his QB) - is also massive
