Canes vs Gators thread.

Does the program not care about sucking so bad? I mean honestly

See the recent contract extensions plus Blake's email about how our student-athletes don't have to win to be champions. I fought off the urge to believe it when people claimed it a few years ago, but they really don't care inside Hecht. We need a bulldog like Foley or Jurich.

Blake James should get a new job: Handing out ribbons at the Special Olympics. He certainly treats our fan base as if we were a bunch of brain-injured children who don't know any better.

Everyone says Queen is a hater until everything he says comes into fruition. He's a realist and not a hopeful optimist. This is what our athletic program is now! We had a cakewalk to Omaha and the easiest path to get here than anyone in the field. I'm sick and tired of not being able to win anything meaningful anymore, whether it's nationally televised football games or an important weekend baseball series. How long would Jeremy Foley put up with anything close to what we have in the last decade? It seems we're just happy to be relevant and most everyone is okay with that. Something has to change and sadly it won't! People say we have the worst fans in college athletics, but being a Canes fan the last decade has caused nothing but heartburn, elevated stress levels, baldness, depression, etc... Obviously joking, but it's getting tough to put on Canes gear as each year passes.

POST OF THE YEAR!

Our path to Omaha:

vs #4
vs #3
vs #3 (loss)
vs #3
vs #4
vs #4

Has to be the easiest road to Omaha for anyone in the last 25 years, but some people were fooled into thinking that we had turned the corner.

Another brilliant ******* post-season performance against The Gators. This is what Miami has become. This whole entire athletic department is cancer. **** "The U". And by "The U", I mean "Miami", not the other 6 Florida schools who are actually worthy of calling themselves that.

Solid post. We'll definitely bounce back and bring home the title now. #GoMediocrity

Absolutely pathetic I was there to witness first hand glad I only paid $12 for my ticket and wasted my gas to drive 2 hours to watch the **** show thanks! the team gave up after it was 5-2 never seen that many runs scored in one inning 11 runs or whatever lol

You've really got to orange and green glasses on not to realize this school's athletic department has gone completely to the dogs over the last ten years. Why the alumni, students, and fans continue to tolerate this mess is a mystery to me. If they want to be strictly an academic and research university then SHUT THE DAMNED THING DOWN! Who in **** wants to watch a MESS like we saw tonight or the pathetic and disgraceful way the football program has deteriorated? The azzholes that run this school should be called to account for garbage like this but it just goes on and on getting worse every year. How long before the ACC drops us for some school like UConn or UCF that has at least a chance to perform well in one sport. Our basketball program continues to be serviceable, but what happens when Coach L finally retires in a few years? Do any of you trust this athletic department to hire ANYONE competent to be coach? Their track record is pretty miserable in that department.

I was wrong. Figured we can't go EIGHT years losing every meaningful game to UF.

This is the revenge of reality.

Knew it after 2 innings, when we had 8 RISP, and managed two pop outs and 6 Strike Outs.

When Suarez started the 3rd, with a 2-0 lead, walking the leadoff on 4 straight, I knew it was another case of orange and green glasses.

The program is LIGHT YEARS behind UF, and yes, FSU.

We lost because we do not hit against good teams. Should have had 7 or 8 after 3 and game over. Worst strikeouts with RISP (6 in 3 innings) I have EVER seen

It's Pollyannas like you that keep this administration from doing anything constructive about this mess. Everything is just fine and dandy, isn't it? We shouldn't ever complain about the fact we haven't won a single important game in football or baseball for over a decade. Give me a break!Just keep eating the chit sandwich this admins serves up every time one of our teams hits the field and they'll keep on with this BS forever.

I am sick and tired of fans who make comments like it's hard to wear Canes gear anymore. That sounds like a closet gator fan. I've been going to Canes events for over 50 years now always have on my Canes watch, have both front and back Canes tags on vehicle, Canes head covers on my golf clubs , Canes hats and shirts in my car and on me! My favorite memory as. Cane fan was beating gators in 1970 when Coach Kichefski took over when Charlie Tate quit after 2 games. He was 1-7 going in gator game and he was BIGGEST gator hater ever. The team pulled behind him and upset the gators 14-13 when their walk on kicker Jim Getzen missed a 32 yard FG The players so badly wanted to win for him that Kurt Schottenheimer offered to bend down and have another player jump on his back to try and block the kick. The next year I met Coach for the first time and thanked him for all he did and for that game and his eyes teared up when he recounted what that game meant to him. He along with my father instilled in me what it meant to be a Canes fan. A TRUE CANES FAN IS A CANES FAN WIN OR LOSE PERIOD!!!

I am pulling like **** for Va to beat gators nd when we beat Arkansas get another chance at them. A 15-3 loss is better than a 3-2 loss as there is no finger pointing and the result is the same. One game at a time. We should be so proud in the fact that we now hold the NCAA RECORD of being in the post season 43 straight years and counting in one sport. I sure as **** am.
