Oh, I am well aware of their deficiencies, and I don't consider myself as one of those sunshine pumpers. I want to believe they will have a decent showing against a below average offence. Can't a guy just dream?

The eye test actually tells me our defense is worse than our statistical rankings. I know we have some talent in the D-line. Although our linebackers are horrendous right now, they haven't played up to their ability. Not saying they are all ACC or anywhere close, but Wes and Kiko are better than what they have shown us the last 4-5 games.

The secondary is awful and void of talent outside of OJ. I have no hope for them. If our D-line and linebackers can just play a decent game for 4 qtrs, I don't see GT keeping up with us. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part

The secondary is bad. The d-line/linebackers are not bad, but have underachieved the last several weeks. The linebackers are actually playing just as bad as the secondary. Barrow and Bain are the only 2 in the front 7 playing with any consistency.

We know what we have with the secondary, but the D-line and linebackers are capable of much more. If they can just play somewhat up to their potential, we shouldn't struggle with GT. I'm hoping this is the game where we see better performance from the front 7.

Maybe I’m wrong but out of all games I think this is the one Miami handles.

Other games I’ve been more concerned but these players who lost last year have to come out ready to play.

Cam is always ready to play. I just think this team comes out prepared to make a statement.

I know the spread is only 10 but it would be a huge upset if maimi loses this game.

They are better at every position on the field. Yea that includes secondary.

If you are bad in over half the games, you are just bad. I'm not sure why you are attempting to justify it. At this point they would be exceeding expectations by performing decent.

I'm not trying to justify their terrible play. I've been plenty critical of the Guidry and the defense. So, is what we saw the first 4 games all smoke & mirrors from the defense? Granted, we were playing bums. Dominating Ball State and FAMU should be a given. USF gave us fits for a half, but then we shut them down. I'm not bragging about those performances.

I think the UF game got us hyped up for what we thought the defense could be all year. Although Florida is not a good team, they are competitive. We pretty much handled them outside of the Montrell Johnson run. Regardless, I'm trying to stay positive that the defense will have one more solid game out of these next 3 games. If not, we are in trouble if we get to the ACCCG or playoffs.
