Canes in the Pros

Slade’s first Triple A start opened with great promise before going off the rails. He started with three no hit innings before allowing six consecutive batters to reach and score to open the fourth. After a visit from the pitching coach, he did strike out two of his final three batters before being yanked after 3.2 IP.

The game was a little bit of an ACC time machine with Colin Moran and Seth Beer also playing.

Coral Park High’s Zack Neto got called up by the Angels after 1 season of pro ball. That rarely happens for a position player. Canes whiffed on that one.

How about the kid the A’s called up. Mason Miller. Couldnt get guys out at D3 for 2 years throwing 86-87 or put on weight. Finds out he has Type 1 Diabetes. Starts gaining weight. Has a good 3rd year velo jumps and transfers to Gardner Webb for his Sr year and really starts to put it all together and a year later he is sitting 99-100 for 4 1/3 innings and pitching in the show.

McKendry has really turned things around after a rough start to the season

Romy isn't hitting, but has appeared in 21 games in the OF and IF for the woeful pale hose.

2020 Big 3: Slade Cecconi is scuffling in AAA Reno with a 7.80 ERA and a 1.561 WHIP. Chris McMahon started the season in AA Hartford. He's struggling a bit with a 5.89 ERA and a 1.648 WHIP. Brian Van Belle is 4-3 with a 2.81 ERA with an excellent 1.18 WHIP for AA Portland. Definitely a special situation when all three of your weekend starters make it to AA and above. Inspiring that Van Belle- a UDFA of the Sawx that signed for a song- is outperforming two 1st round bonus babies.

ADC: After struggling his first two seasons in pro ball, ADC was still somehow promoted to AA this season. He's answered the challenge hitting a respectable .270 with a .370 OBP to go with 8 jacks.

Jacob Burke: Tearing up A ball batting .354 with a .436 OBP.

Max Romero: Hitting a combined .192 between rookie and A ball this season with no homers.

What happened to Mike Amditis? Looking like he’s on the Bartolo Colon diet. I thought they didn’t you feed you in the minors

Haven't seen anyone stick around in the minors as long as this guy while hitting sub .200 and not hitting homeruns. Keeps on moving up too.

Fish have Jan Mercado, before that Sharif Othman. Sticking/stuck around long after it was evident their bat wouldn’t play.

Never did hear anyone speak on it but assumed it was trustworthy catching depth and the organization doesn’t/didn’t care whether they hit or not. Like a roving catching instructor who is subject to the minor league rule v… figured I’d bring it up.

Catchers man...they can stick around for ever if they can throw it and pitchers like throwing to them. I know two guys who were mediocre minor league guys for the most part but just hung around and hung around and both ended up in the show long enough to make good money and live comfortably. Anthony Recker and Brian Schneider. Recker is on TV now and Schneider coaches (another catcher trait)

Yoyo is ripping the ball now. Does anyone know what's going on with Walters? I see he hasn't pitched this year.
