Canes commits/targets in action: 2023 season thread

And those are the highlights. I watched a lot of the game because it was on TV. He has bad pocket presence, holds onto the ball too long, floats the ball which would be easy picks for guys like JW or Kinchens. Not saying he can't be a good college QB. But he is a true project. More so than Rashada even.

These HS QBs are a different breed, man. I don't know how you drop 1M+ on the 17/18 year old ones. It's betting on black at a roulette table to me.
It's much worse odds then red or black at a roulette wheel lol

Watch the first 10 minutes of the game. Russell had his hand on his waist multiple times at the snap of the ball. For a kid looking to play P5 ball, his talent isn’t good enough to be that out of shape. so far, this would be the first kid I would say is a miss eval. Maybe he gets to Miami and reshapes is body and becomes the next 3T beast but I’m not seeing it.

The staff will see it. If he doesn’t make a big jump this year I think he is told to kick rocks

I’m certainly not saying 9 is a finished product nor a FISZICAL freak, but it’s clear he maybe cramping or tweaked something.

I watched multiple times last season move with more burst and overall fluidity. He’s a strong side DE / Situational DT currently. Could change, but you need role players to do the work on every quality team.

Just my 2 cent. Hope the Isaiah is straight. Coming off an ACL so further injuries are a concern at this level / point.

He'll be processed and will "shock the world" when he flips to App State or somewhere.

I think Cristobal and Co. expected Russell to keep progressing during the summer but it looks like the kid sat around all summer.
Adding on I think this turns out to be another situation we saw recently with a Columbus DL.

Russell has essentially demanded he only play end in their 3-3 stack and has no interest playing inside. If he doesn't want to add weight there's no way Cristobal keeps him around
