Canes #11/13 (Coach/AP) - 2.20.23

UCONN has been the best team in the Nation thus far this season IMO, they’re the only team that has looked absolutely flawless in every game they’ve played.
UConn amazes me. I thought when Calhoun left they would recede back to where they were before he arrived. No NIL resources, and Storrs is hardly a boon to recruiting (in the middle of nowhere). Kudos to Danny Hurley. That team looks amazing. Sanogo is a beast.

I'll be there, hope we have a good crowd... the guys deserve it
Good for you!

Norchad is gonna have his hands full competing on the glass at both ends. Casey and Aire just not ready yet. I could see Walker getting more minutes than usual.

Yep. If the others played as hard as Bensley Joseph does on D ....
That’s our red flag for me. We’ve had teams play with us that had no business even being in the game so long. The offense is really good defense is really bad

Yeah they were pretty much dead in the water after they got hit with the recruiting violations towards the end of the Kevin Ollie era & it took Hurley some time to get their stronghold back in recruiting after the first couple seasons, but now they’re in position to be back to being a perennial tournament contender.

And leaving the AAC to go back to the Big East was the absolute best decision they ever made, the world of CBB wasn’t right with having UCONN in any other conference but the Big East lol.

I’m a GTown fan by heart, they were the first team I ever rooted for in Basketball & I still enjoy & want to see UCONN be a good & viable team, because it helps restore the overall balance in CBB.

What I noticed about our Defense is that we actually play well when we trap & pick up at 94ft.

Where we find ourselves in trouble on a game to game basis is we let one guy get hot & takes until they’ve scored like 15+ points in a row until we send Ben Joseph or H-Bev at’em lol, but when we decide to intensify on-ball pressure we usually do a pretty good job in forcing bad shots & turnovers.

We also don’t have a traditional rim protector, Omier does as good of a job he can do while not being a traditional Big, but considering we’re not a really big team overall it’s just something we’ll have to work around throughout the season.

Well we gotta embrace who we are. I don’t think it should be situational. Doesn’t haven’t to be the full 94 every go but pressure defense is what we need.

Tomorrow's game is huge. If we can take care of Virginia, we might wind up in the top 10. My concern right now is if Pack is going to play, or if he is still sick. We're going to need him for sure.
He’s gonna earn that nil money the hard way that’s for **** sure with Clark on him
