Camp Notes from the Baseball Field?

I've given up on Dillard. You really can't teach someone to run like Marshawn Lynch or any other great power back. He's naturally timid.

Given the player development shown by this coaching staff of previously written off dudes over the first two seasons of their tenure, it's not wise to write *anyone* off.

Agree 100% but it's hard to make a kid physical. They (usually) "got it" or they don't.

Makes sense to me.

IIRC a lot of people thought Danny Dilliard was a better Safety prospect than RB coming out of H.S.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him switch positions at some point, especially if Gus can pass him up on the depth chart this season. Plus with Yearby and Powell coming in I just don't see him having an impact in our running game anytime soon barring a serious rash of injuries.

Safety? I don't know if he has the hips or feet for that. I can see LB though. But if he's not physical running the ball ain't no way in **** he's physical enough to play LB.

People that aren't physical enough for offense definitely don't move to defense
. (it's the other way around)

Matt Porter @mattyports
Al Golden said WRs Allen Hurns and Rashawn Scott are nicked up. Also said "numbers are low" at WR; bringing them up is a recruiting focus.

I did a double-take when I heard this. Makes me think Goldens is one of those cats who is never happy.

Maybe he's right, strictly from a roster standpoint. We aren't two deep if running five wide.

But you'd be hard-pressed to find a more talented corps from top-to-bottom.

He said something today about being worried about the wr position because we don't have 12-13 guys.
Sounds like he is only happy when he has a 3 deep at a position where everyone can step in and the position doesn't miss a step.
Guy is extremely demanding, and nothing less than perfection seems to be his goal.

I remember Howard and Jimmy were exactly the same in their focus.o

What's up with the camp reports, they do a great job but they've been backed up lately
