Camp Notes Day #8

Nice that it feels that there is very little dead weight left on the team.

Gonna be some more (unfortunately) after next spring practice. But it's also good. "It's a process."

we are certainly closer this year then we were last year...

you have the feeling that its almost over and we will be back to competing on a high level every year
staying ranked playing in bcs games...excitement is genuine and we almost back
You are only as good as your weakest link. Until the D steps up and shows it in the games and against top rated opponents we are what we are.

all I know is we on the way...we know the defense needs improvement....Golden and the staff is making the necessary
changes to make this happen
The talent, experience, and strength on that side of the ball was a huge issue
The weight numbers are up drastically
Secondary has a **** of a make over (need a little bit more depth at safety maybe)
Defensive line recruits are coming
Linebacking core is getting better...
The addition of the DE transfer from OK State.

WE are a **** of a lot better got a little bit more to go but we are almost there...

I dont know about that..... the majority of the players that are left are hand picked by this staff, so unless someone commits a crime or fails a drug test i dont see any "dead weight" being removed from the team next spring.

I guess if you are thinking about guys like Jalen Grimble, David Perry, Hunter Wells, Preston Dewey, Corey King, and Earl Moore..... The staff likes how King and Moore are developing so i dont see that happening and Jalen Grimble and David Perry could make a name for themselves there senior year like other guys that Golden turned around their last year.

Dewey may be gone well before then and Hunter Wells i'm assuming the staff likes.... regardless neither of these players are dead weight in the sense that they disrupt the flow of the team so it wont matter as far as wins and losses go this year or the next.

I knew Dewey was going to be gone soon... to much competition...

Not everyone can start at the college level. There may be other reasons for him to stay on the team besides being a starter.

And regarding your avatar, I finally watched TED last night. Was in tears laughing thru half of it. I now fully appreciate your avatar. lol

i knew dewey was gonna transfer the kid look flat out lazy.. im good with the QBS we have on the roster and the new ones coming in were good at that position... another person im keeping my eye on is #81 carter i have a feeling he might transfer hes not gonna play much this year i hope he sticks it out because were gonna need him next year with scott, hurns, and Dorsett possibly going to the NFL next year...

golden said "thats 40 minutes you have over the guy who ran backed to call his girlfriend." i love this guy. hahaha.

I did not mean to suggest that guys would be chased off by the staff. But there are always guys who realize that they aren't gonna sniff the field here, so they look elsewhere for PT and transfer on their own.

newcomers #82 Mustafaa, #78 Renfrow and #90 Kamalu at the 5:20 mark working on pass rushing as Chip wraps it up.

We'll still have transfers. But after this year, they will end up productive at other schools. They won't leave because they're bad, but because they're not quite as good as our Day 1 and Day 2 talent.

malcolm is looking better every time i see him he will be back at full speed by mid-season and by this time next year he will be the man... i like how the staff is bringing him along slowly.. Miami is a first class program

Even nicer to see Howard running step for step with Coley.
Man, Dorsett just looks fast. Real fast.
