Cam Ward said he WILL play

Not to mention its a really good look. In this NIL era pro teams have to appreciate guys who just want to play football. All he needs is one team in the top 10 to fall in love with him come draft time. Sometimes small data points make all the difference when they have a couple of guys slotted similarly.
Interesting points that I hadn't thought of. Some positives from NIL

Cam chosing to play in the bowl game shows the NFL he’s a team player and all in. Since players starting opting out of bowl games several NFL executives and scouts have said they prefer players not opt out, although it is understandable in many circumstances.

I’m glad to see Ward and Martinez set an example. Hopefully other Canes take the opportunity to get that 11th win.

I’m glad to see it among at schools too.

There’s no reason not to play unless you’re nursing an injury or you’ve chosen to add your name to the transfer portal.
Top 5 picks are told not to play by NFL guys alllllll the time.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

Yall need to stop pocket watching Ward and realize that man is SET.

Not to mention we are playing a team that doesn’t typically get sacks, not to mention we got them “trench babies” lol

Also FYI Ward is playing this game for Mario. He loves Mario/Dawson and they’re the reason he is a top 5 pick at all. He wants to win this game for them.

He knows that 11 wins is history (I hate saying that) and no matter what anyone says about these bowl games it helps ALOT more to win them then to lose.

selfishly I wanna see cam one more time.

for our future, it would make sense to get a real look at emory for an entire game with the returning talent to see what we have at QB heading into next year. this is basically a preseason game.

honestly for our future it makes sense to win this game and Ward gives you the best chance to do so. I know Iowa state is taking this game seriously.

Finishing the season losing 3/4 and finishing 10-3 puts us right back where we started imo (don’t even get me started on if we also were to lose to ND week 1 as well).

But 11-2 is not only history but major momentum and I think this is Wards way of paying Dawson/Mario/UM back for ultimately helping him solidify himself as a top 5 pick.

What was your opinion before then?
Amazing player.

The effort he showed on that play was like Jordan level competitiveness. Especially when you saw Jalen Milroe the week before throw a weak *** INT vs Oklahoma where milroe opted to lazily try to trip the guy returning the pick instead of tackling him.

Definitely a fun season, and he was the talk of it all for a long time. Sucks it ended how it did, we were just a few big plays away from the CFP and Cam winning the Heisman. Funny how you can be so close to everything you hope for then it all slips through your fingers like sand.

But now that I’ve cooled off some, I have to be able to appreciate being in the thick of things until the very end. Just missed our goals, but it was still waaaay more fun than any season I can remember in a long *** time. We were talked about from the moment we crushed UF, always in the mix and in the conversation. Much more enjoyable season that way. And the close calls were pretty **** awesome regardless of the expectations. I’ll never forget staying up to watch the Cal comeback. That’s all gotta matter.

Hope we can close it out with a W. Cam as fun as **** to watch.

agree. But deep down , watching him do interviews like this, seeing that building billboard in Times Square, makes me even angrier that the defensive side of the ball let him down like it did.
