cam ward is about to throw for 4k

in the regular season ... barring injury, he's sitting at 3,774 with 34 touchdowns ... they trying hard has **** to give it to hunter but c'mon now
I agree with you. My guess is folks will use Miami's weak schedule against Ward for winning the heisman. CAM is the best QB IN THE country still and can take over at any time. But his numbers are **** impressive.

Can needed to have better games against GT and WF. He wasn’t bad, but with all the Jeanty and Hunter hype + us taking the L and playing not-so-great comp, he had a chance to make a move with a couple 350-400 and 3+ TD games.

It was there for the taking. Unfortunately bad timing for him to have a couple “off” games. Add in the bye week and he fell off.

Not a huge bias guy, but for sure if he had a G or A on the side of his helmet he’d have a better chance because the media would pump him more.

Gt was a bad time to have a bad game. Jeanty had been tied with Hunter for a good part of the season, Jeanty started looking mortal again and then it was Ward or Hunter. Ward lights it up against GT and finishes the season at same clip and it wouldn’t be totally crazy for Ward to win because he’s a QB (though anti UM fans would lose their minds). QBs impact the W/L more than any other position, so ward gets more blame for losses. Since hunter isn’t touching the ball every play, he doesn’t get blamed as much for their losses.

Jayden Daniels had a couple off days last year but he also had 50 total TDs, almost 4000 yards passing and 1100 yards rushing. That jumps off the stat sheet. The other Heisman candidates weren’t nearly as impressive. Bo Nix, Marvin Harrison Jr, Penix. Daniels was clearly the best. This year there are 3 who all have decent arguments - ward, jeanty, hunter. But hunter is doing something that hasn’t been seen in a long time, playing both offense and defense. I think the novelty of that gives him the edge over the the other two. I don’t think that is particularly unfair to Ward.

Finishing second in the Heisman race is still incredible and is going to make future QB transfers take notice. And I think Ward wins the Davey O’Brien. Last winner we had was Gino Toretta. I’d say ward’s transfer to UM paid off for him.

Blame ESPN all you want but what has Miami done to promote Cam for the Heisman? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Can't stand Deion but he is a master promoter and has put Hunter in position to win the Heisman. Too bad Miami hasn't done the same for Cam
“He’s the ultimate alpha and an elite human being.”

Charles Woodson's team didn't have 3 losses at this point.
Team record isn’t that important as long as the team isn’t straight trash. Baylor was 9-3 when rg3 won and lsu was 9-3 last year when Daniels won. If Colorado wins next week they will be 9-3

Really can’t use schedule against Ward given the other 2 at the top

I do think our marketing team should be all over this. We have a strong NIL program, gotta be better organized than Colorado. Yet we can’t create some momentum marketing for Cam 4 Heisman? Seems weak.

Troy Smith doesn't acknowledge Lamar, Tebow, Williams, and RGIII won the Heisman on teams with 3 regular season losses?
The bottom line in my opinion is that the standard and what they vote based on changes by the season and the candidates. If cam balls vs cuse and SMU and we are 12-1 - ballots are due the next day- he would be a lock if his name was Jalen Milroe or Carson Beck or Will Howard. The biggest thing holding him back is some questionable INTs and the U on his helmet.

I agree with you, that's how it SHOULD be, but I just see it going to Hunter because of the novelty of being a 2-way player who actually puts up stats at both positions and the media overhype for all things Colorado because of the "Primetime" effect. Bad timing for Cam unfortunately as he has had an amazing season and is worthy of it. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't get the promotion angle. I don't know how it works but isn't it professionals who choose the award winner? I thought there was a really small percentage decided by fans.

i normally play it cool, but your take is flat out wrong ... miami has done more for cam ward and a heisman run than any other guy i can remember in miami history

Hate to bring the reality check, but if we lose, his time as a hurricane is likely over. Gotta appreciate the dude while we have him.

Hopefully he has several college games left.

I agree. Cam losing to Hunter is acceptable but this Jeanty kid is a media hype product. I'd rather have Lyle or the Hampton kid from NC over Jeanty, who is beating up on the equivalent of high school kids weekly. He played 2-8 Wyoming last night. Like seriously? He will be exposed in the playoff when he plays a defense with comparable talent that has tape on him. He won't catch anyone sleeping like Oregon in week one again.
Jeanty ran for almost 200 yards and 3 TDs against the number 1 team in America at Autzen. The kid is a stud and by far the best back in America. But he isn’t winning the Heisman

Maybe via stats but there are more complete backs I would draft before him. Granted, not many, but I have seen better. He is just not Heisman worthy. Derrick Henry won the Heisman, Eddie George won the Heisman, Reggie Bush won the Heisman. This kid is not nearly as dynamic as those backs were/are. They feed him 40 times per game and outside of Oregon, he runs on San Jose state and Wyoming. I'm sorry but no, that is not Heisman worthy. Doak Walker award, sure. But not the Heisman. You can't give it to this kid and then not have given it to a back as great as Ladanian Tomlinson at TCU who three times the RB that Jeanty is even if Jeanty pads his stats at Boise.

I already said he isn’t winning the Heisman. I wouldn’t draft any back before him. The kid average 7.7 yards per rush against Oregon. But it’s your opinion. I respect it
