Cam opt out?

I don't disagree but he might've been better advised -- from an optics standpoint -- to just sit out as X did.
I think it would have been better if Mario or whoever announced in advance that he was only playing a half.

I don’t like it. X either. They were both paid a lot of money this year and should’ve seen it through. There’s insurance policies for the very small risk of injury. You can’t have it both ways , either you’re a professional getting paid or you aren’t. Props to Sanders and Hunter.
Professionals miss games that "don't matter" all the time in every league all the time. We can look at today and next week in the NFL as example. In the playoffs or eliminated from the playoffs some guys won't play week 17 or week 18. And not all due to injury. So if they're professionals like you said and certainly not getting paid as much as their NFL counterparts why shouldn't they sit out? Other than it hurts our sensibilities as fans.

Frankly this is playing the result anyway. Jacolby George only played a half and no one seems to care. If Emory was better or if they simply ran the ball 4 times when it was first and goal instead of settling for the FG to make 41-35. This is likely a win and not a story.

I guess in mid October when you’ve been eliminated from your conference title and playoffs with 3-4 losses guys should walk out too? I mean the games don’t matter at that point ? So what you’ve made millions playing for this program.

I don't care about any of that. This pollyanna view of what sports should be like. As much information as you have access to, you seem like you're still holding on to days gone by. Like I said. This is a fan sensibilities thing. A sense of what's right and wrong I guess.

Don't use the "they're professional" card or money as some reason why they should've played when the actual professionals that have contracts that go beyond one season have been sitting out late season games for years.

Cam was a mercenary. Bought and paid for to save Mario's ***. So why is anyone surprised that the mercenary did what was best for him? Because he decided to put on the uniform and represent Miami for about 9 months? And if you wanna get after X for not playing in the bowl after being in this mess of a program for 5 years you have that right.

I don’t believe that. If their plan was to evaluate him we wouldn’t have run the plays we did.
This belief is based on assuming that the coaches are smart and that they make smart decisions.

They are dumb.

Dawson called plays in his offensive scheme that he thought Emory could execute.

It was identical to the plays he called for Emory against Clemson and FSU.

To ultimately not take responsibility for the decision to go with Emory, regardless of conversations behind closed doors, is ******* bull**** from Mario.

Protect the player who gave you 10 wins despite you trotting out one of the worst defenses in the league, ultimately undermining all of his success.

Move on. Cam will be first player taken in draft and be a stud. Let’s hope he says Miami during his Sunday night NFL intro

Martinez sat out half the second half. no one cared.

Not specific to ward. Done talking about it. But I really do hate the direction of this sport at the college level. I’m not even trying to be old man yelling at a cloud. But it would be nice for these kids just to play and not “opt out”. It’s just not the sport it used to be. And it’s lame. But again it is what it is
