Caleb Chandler

The only thing I worry about with him is getting our players ankles rolled up on when he's pancaking the opposition!

Iowa State? I'm hoping he got his polio leg braces removed, and he decommitted because D1 programs now realize he can play.

Looks like he already has some solid offers. 247 has him as a 4 star and a high 3 star in the composite for those that like the stars and ****.

Caleb Chandler, Jefferson, Offensive Tackle

He's in Richt's former backyard. How hard was Richt recruiting him at UGA?

He and Gray are backups if Ga does not get Wilson as their 5th OL committ. Canes should be after both these guys because both will be players after a RS year.

Searles is slipping...he should be on Gray and this kid ASAP....Leatherwood is all Bama...stop waisting time on him

From all the different tournaments around the country this seems to be year of the OL for thr 17 class period. A lot of DL in 17 as a whole have been quite unimpressive. Likely why we have 1 DT commit.

Im in favor of 17 being a heavy OL class for sure

The young man looks good and he had some interesting things to say about his recruitment

Dawg Post Recruiting Update - Georgia - Scout

Even if he commits to lets say Miami sometime between now and signing day, after listening to that Video he sounds like a kid that will flip to a more local SEC school (UGA, Tenn, or Miss St) in a heart beat if they offered signing day morning. I like the idea of recruiting him, but a late backup plan alternate should be on speed dial for Miami just incase there any shenanigans.

I agree with DMoney that Chandler is a Guard in college since Miami is looking for pure Tackles to round out the 2017. I think Caleb Chandler is being recruited as a luxury signee if we can't land a pure tackle to close out the 2017 OLine class.

Go Canes

I wouldn't dismiss the kid because he was an Iowa State commit.
The Iowa State OL coach had some pretty strong OL units at Toledo.

Love this kid's game, I also love Tony Gray's game, I knew from the get go Georgia would be high on other targets due to site hype rankings and missed evaluations which would leave us with an opening to form relationships with kids like Caleb. Watching film on Chandler and Gray is what evaluations is all about, a lot of scouts got their ratings incorrect, they are a lot better than they are given credit. When Richt first got this Job he should have envisioned a line that consisted of LT-Slaton G-Donaldson G-Chandler RT-Gray, one thing I like what Richt said recently is you win up front, once we get that dominate line on both ends we will be unstoppable. If you pay attention close to higher rank teams than us like Bama, they struggle when faced against a good line because it counters their philosophy. Slaton would be my top priority, ask any quick twitch DE in South Florida that went up against him how hard it is to beat him, even cats like Aaron Thompson. Yes Slaton is a guard but every good coach has a vision for each recruit, I only trust Slaton and Foster from Washington at LT protecting my QB blindside this class.

Interesting insight into Gray's recruitment, sounds like mama will be moving to school with him or at least near it when he picks a school.

Shirreff has changed a lot since high school and hopefully seeing the way he has developed at Miami will help Chandler see how Miami could develop him also should things workout where Chandler could commit to Miami if UM has the room for him.

im an ol guy, i love his film.

I want him and that crazy beast out of Missouri at guard..kid has a mean streak and finishes off blocks. Good trait in an ol..believe this ol class will be real good.

It better be. We need guys who can step in 2 years from now. Have to hit on at least 3 future contributors.
