Cal Fans' Behavior

Most of the bantering was in good fun, but walking around the concourse at halftime there were fans who were actin like fools because they thought they had the game in the bag.
I would pay good money to see their reaction after the game

Nothing out of the ordinary. Some **** talkers but I talked a lot of **** pregame with some Cal fans. The ones near me in the stadium were cool. They would ask about certain Miami players after we made plays.

Was at the game. Actually chatted briefly with @DMoney at the bar right beforehand, an unexpected surprise.

Most of the Cal fans I saw were fine. This one dude near us just kept yelling stuff like "**** Cam Ward!" and my lady - whose first game this was - thought he was being a ****, but I told her that was nothing. Told her that if this were an actual rivalry game, the intensity would be ten times the level of what was on display.

And as for how Cal fans acted afterwards? Honestly, I was surprised by how much accepted resignation I felt. Like, not disappointment, but more like, yup, this is what happens. I expected to encounter more anger, but didn't. One dude in the stands as we left cracked me up as he was yelling **** like, "Have fun dropping in the polls after that ****** win."

Were you the guy holding up a turnover chain yelling at them about gold as they walked on the ramp up the stadium? lol

Yeah, sure, the Cal student section didn't throw cups and bottles onto our players...the video was a deep-fake...

Viva la ignorance.
Don’t be such a wus.

You are assuming that Miami fans are angelic choirboys at games. I remember well our fans seriously rocking the Notre Dame team bus as it arrived at Hard Rock in 2017. Designed to intimidate the Irish. No harm done. No foul. All part of the game.

The Cal fans were fine.

Was at the game, surrounded by Cal fans, they were all fine, little bit salty at the end but who wouldn't be? Fist bumped all our immediate neighbors after the game.

More relevant: when did we get so touchy that we are mad about Gameday signs and student sections after a glorious comeback win?

Well some punches were definitely thrown in the section I was in but for the most part the Cal fans were nothing more than annoying and delusional.

We have grown very, very soft if we are complaining about fans of Cal-Berkeley.

Has anyone looked at the average SAT score of a Cal student? It is 1415.
There was a Gameday sign that read “I thought this was a protest”
Nerds can be annoying but give me a break if you think these nerds were anything more than annoying.

This is like complaining about how rude Vandy or Duke students are. Save those complaints for the SEC schools where the admission criteria is that you graduated high school in; Alabama, Mississippi, S Carolina, Arkansas, etc….and you are still breathing.

Nerds rarely take their football too seriously because none of them will brag about their college football team at an alumni reunion in 15 years. They are more likely to ask whether Cal has a college football team.

I love this so much. The way it should be.

Good venue. Passionate fans. Mutual respeK. Tip of the cap when the opponent earns a Dub. 🫡
Those student fans are about as wholesome as college kids get. The notion that Cal is just full of protesters, hippies and the homeless is just ludicrous.

Cal does not have t-shirt fans like Miami, ND, USC or every SEC team not from Nashville. The Bears have been in football purgatory since before color TV. If they are in the stadium, assume they are a student, alum, parent, child or friend thereof with nothing remotely better to do. This was a huge game for them and they filled the bowl and were passionate which is great for the conference. Canes may take the title of Cal's most hated opponent not named Stanford now that SC isn't on their schedule. The turnout by Canes fans was much more robust than I expected. The brand still matters even out here on the West Coast. I doubt FSU will fill as many seats (benches) when they travel to NoCal.

I never pay attention to halftime shows. Always go hit the urinal and grab a beer or something to eat. But at this one the ru had synchronized drones lighting up the sky to creat their bear mascot among several other formations. I thought it was super cool. Is that new? Am I showing my ignorance?

I have been to 5 separate stadiums so far this year. I have never seen a drone halftime show once. That is not normal.
