Butch Davis and Al Golden

Who cares if Butch was a liar and a scumbag?

Do we want to be moral high ground U? Or do we want to be the U again?

Newsflash...great coaches are all ********. From Belichick, to Saban, To Meyer, to Petrino to Butch...whoever.

Cry me a ******* river about about a coaching lying or being less than trustworthy. They all are, to varying degrees.

You can have your moral high ground, and your core values, and your pillars, and whatever else the fake nice guy Golden is selling you......give me a coach who wins, ******* or not.

Butch was criticized pretty much the same way Golden has been before leaving. A good recruiter who couldn't coach the team to it's potential. Kind of ironic.

I have really grown tired of golden and can honestly say I hate him he's not willing to make the right decision and all of you up north canes are used to sucking and seeing soft *** football but this **** we know down here in the south is hard hitting get up in your mouth football. If y'all love him so much then when he gets fired for keeping this **** of a product on the field make sure you follow him out the door. Im not going to ever turn on my team I've loved this program since I was 6 years old and will always be behind it but to see you guys who just make up **** outta nowhere that we won't give the right guys interviews is your own self loathing cause y'all don't know jus like I don't so stop trying to be baby insider's.

Except generalizations are what get this admin into bad sitatuions.

Al Golden never coached in the NFL. He never coordinated in the NFL. He never won a SB as a coordinator in the NFL.

Al Golden never coached on a National Championship staff. Al Golden's mentor, the man he learned how to run a program, was a failure at UVA and a failure at GT as DC.

Butch did coach in the NFL. He did win a Super Bowl as a coordinator. His mentor is in the college and pro hall of fame.

Al golden is NOTHING like Butch.

I hate Golden too. But I think northerners such as Steelers, Giants, Patriots, packers, 9ers, Broncos, and Bears fans know what hard hitting elite football looks like.

How do you know the administration gives a **** about any of these generalizations?

Oh so there aren't any Pitt or Rutgers or OSU or BC or PSU or Mich players in th NFL?

You said people up north don't know what good football is. And yet the north features the large majority of Super Bowl championship teams, and fans of those teams thus get to see good football.

Al Goldens problem isn't he's from NJ. It's that he's highly under qualified.

Al is 20 years younger than Butch. Give him some time, mane! Al has plenty of time to put tons of players in the NFL, yet fail to win any championships with that talent...

Those nfl teams are all led by for the most by one major component a franchise qb none have feared defenses the giants are probably the best and the 49ers aren't a northern team considered west coast jus like Denver but to eachs own and every one of those franchise you have named I can poke holes in but they have one saving grace.

So you are saying that in fact, football fans in the north actually have witnessed Super Bowl Championships? Right, RIGHT? ******* two brain cells with some of these porsters.

So?? Doesn't mean he's a great HC. Butch was a HC for around ten years between his stints in the NFL, at UM, and at UNC. Did he ever even win his Conference title as a HC?

Difference is Butch had much better assistants and a better eye for talent.

Just becAuse they have witnessed super bowls doesn't mean they know how they're built you have seen no evidence of what your trying to figure is a good football team in miami have you that's the nfl you guys don't dictate **** up there you can try your hardest to say you have seen real football but that's the nfl not college where a coach is the general manager and CEO and if your fine with backing this **** u see on the field then so be it but im not because in my world if your product sucks it don't sell

He also had 6 years to turn UM around. Albeit with significant scholarship sanctions. IMHO the jury is out on the eye for talent, but I agree his assistants, particularly his coordinators were much better. Again, I just find the whole situation ironic. And it is. They don't have to be exactly the same. A ton of people wanted Butch fired before the 2000 season, and nobody was very happy with either his eye for talent or his assistants then. Hindsight is 20/20.
