LMAO at Rumph liking this tweet. "Not sure where you fault UM" is directly from the Al Golden playbook. Won't take no for an answer unless you're up against the big boys.

Hartley would tweet the kid is going to be sorry....That's the main difference between a great recruiter and one who is looking for moral victories like Rumph. If the man would have done his part with just Campbell, then the class would have been elite.. Still a great class tho, but Rumphs inability to get recruits can't continue going forward.

Richt needs to call Lincoln Riley for tips and install an air raid offense. With Lingard toting the rock, Miami's offense could be a juggernaut. Your Heisman trophy winner this year was a walk-on transfer, so don't give me that bs that we need a 5 star qb to make the playoffs. Put up 55 a game and just ask the defense to make some a few stops and force turnovers. Don't need lockdown corners, just a ball hawking secondary- which we already have. Up to see if Richt can change with the times.

There's something else that needs to be said in regards to Rumph and co.

An interview was posted last night with a quote from Campbell's dad stating Alabama & Georgia recruited his son the hardest. Effort means nothing without results, but that's still alarming and pathetic. Campbell was supposedly at the very top of our board and this staff has known all about him ever since they arrived.

The only thing with Rumph is I cant understand how hes such a good coach (this isnt debatable) but cant recruit worth a ****. I thought it would be the opposite when we hired him. This guy really is horrible at recruiting. But its not like you can fire him..he can coach his a$$ off. What he has done with MJ, Bandy and did with MYoung is impressive. Two 3* and a 4* and he has made them big time players.

Not to mentioned all he did for the careers of all those noname QBs who threw for 300 or so yards on us. Mike, as a Cane, I would never criticize, but now he is a hired hand so the rules change. We have gotten lots of good players the last 4 or5 years but only one from the hs he coached at and that was a lineman, not skill player he would have more to do with. I like the players we got but he failed to deliver the prize. The clock is ticking on Mark and it is his decision. This is not Georgia; he does not have 10 or even 7 years and two are gone.

Wasn’t that the reason Rumph gave for why golden failed to get AH kids? Karma is a .

He thought he had him in the bag. Yall werent reading the signs....he said it earlier on when he praised like 4 of their coaches...and gave Mike Rumph a pity hes like a father figure comment. I mean i always thought Richt or Manny Diaz should have personally handled the Campbell recruitment from jump..just off the fact dude f'd up two years in a row....but.....Mel Tucker

Yall remember when Rumph said ..Um didnt offer Sony Michel till late......good times!!

OU would make the scoreboard look like a pinball game against our defense.

***** both of them and all around them. If Mark, Many, and Mike have one ball among them it should be a life or death mission to get to playoffs against uga and Bama and run that big fullback behind Hightower and both TEs right at each of these smucks play after play until they are carted off the field on a board. Then send a photo of the dent in the turf to each frigging So Fl recruit with their offer. Play for Miami or get crushed by who does.

Preach.

Fellas, getting 5-star athletes to come to Miami doesn't guarantee us anything. Who was the last 5-star signee we've had who lived up to the billing? Our bread & butter as always been to sign tough, hard-working 3 and 4-star recruits, who aren't as highly coveted as the big names and develop them into future pros. Yes, we've had some 5-star guys pan out, but for every Duke Johnson or DJ Williams we've had, I can name you half a dozen others who didn't. Anybody remember Seantrel Henderson? Tracy Howard? Arthur Brown? Reggie Youngblood? Brandon Harris? Fortson? Guys like Denzel Perryman, Ed Reed, David Njoku and Vilma, who were 3-star guys coming out of HS and killed it at the collegiate and pro levels, are who this U was built on. Quit your crabbin' about who we didn't get. Let's focus on who we did and support them to the fullest. LET'S GO CANES!!!

Are you kidding me? Chad Thomas? Duke Johnson?

Chad Thomas didn't do much til Coach Kul got on campus. And although he played well his last 2 years, I think most will agree that he didn't play up to the 5-star billing. Not doggin' Chad at all. I hope he has a 10+ year career in the league and makes a ton of money doin it. The young man deserves it.

GO CANES!

lol my god this isnt 1990

I didn't say it was 1990. Point I was making is that a lot of folks on here are **** bent on just signing 5-star recruits and in the grand scheme of things, our success doesn't hinge on that. If history has shown us anything it's that The U is one of the few programs in America that can say that.

LMAO at the "stars don't matter" guy.

Stars matter some, but not to the extent many on this board are led to believe. I'd take PS2 and TC in a heartbeat, but I'm definitely not one to cry over spilled milk. Let's keep things in perspective: Despite our shortcomings the last few weeks of the season and not closing with the #1 class for 2018, The U is 1) Coming off a 10 win season. 2) Was in the national title hunt up until the last week of the season. 3) Was the talk of the NCAA world for a good part of the season. 4) Signed a consensus Top 10 class for 2018.

We still have steps to take in order to reclaim our spot at the top, but I think we can all agree that after spending the last decade with Shannon & Golden coaching staffs, and the Shapiro scandal, our program is headed in the right direction.

GO CANES!

No, he just needs to be able to hit a barn door. And don't be daft, acting like Lincoln Riley would make Rosier better than he is.

Give Mike Rumph a bunch of 4 stars and I'll think he'll be just fine. I like that he's not pandering to divas. Get me dogs who want to be canes and are willing to work. We have more than enough without the kids who would rather play for Alabama and Georgia. Y'all gotta stop acting like this thing was built off those types of athletes anyway. The depth is getting better each class and we just need to continue to improve our play on the field.

Simple, Bama, UGA, Clemson, OSU and others are still perceived as the better programs.

We are making our way back, but have to get over a hurdle or two.

Our end of the season, that certainly didn't help. I think had we won the Pitt game as well as our bowl game, we would've had a better shot at some of the AH guys.

Watch the defense this year. If anyone thinks Diaz is more competent than whoever at OSU, Bama, Clemson, UGA....let me know. Diaz will have to prove he's not a busy this year and his job got a lot harder without Surtain and Campbell.

Not only without Surtain and Campbell but it's going to be extremely difficult with only 5 scholarship DE's if Patchan moves back and only 6 scholarship DT's 2 of which won't get here until Summer at the earliest.

Agreed, except we lost 7 out of 15 DL on roster, of which 5 are out of the top 8. In addition, we will lose another 3 probable starters next year. We only signed 3 DL, of which only Nesta is ready to contribute from day 1. Miller is a project (may turn out to be a stud) and Rousseau needs a redshirt. I know we have a graduate transfer but this is a HUGE deficit on our DL depth. We keep talking about how we our building depth but we will go into the 2019 and 2020 recruiting season with a huge lack of depth on DL, OL and possibly LB. We will never compete with the top teams playing catch-up on these crucial positions, much less continuously losing out on the Elite talent in our backyard.

EXACTLY. The amount of turnovers we force if we had a juggernaut O we’d be tough to beat.
