Business decisions

Maybe Bama but UGa nah... maybe Richt recruiting Sony Michel to UGa came back to bite him.

But it really shouldn't be that deep. PS2 and TC had a chance of really being treated like celebs as a trio with Nesta. The campus environment argument is bs. Julio isn't famous bc he went to Bama, it's bc hes balling in the league.

So many players get bought to go to Bama nobody cares when their time is up.... just ask Dre Kirkpatrick, says he never goes back to Tuscaloosa bc they don't want to see his *** back riding around town in a nice car.

Players that play for Miami always get identified and admired just bc they played at Miami... the mental make up of South Florida dbs is pathetic. Has nothing to do with Miami "not being back" its a bunch of head cases that are so simple minded and get easily enamored with the SEC hype like a bunch of school girl groupies

The realist ish you ever wrote...

D$'s my brother from another mother, but I'm not with this one at all. To be where we want to be, we need to, at some point, land a kid like TC. What better time than the guy who's coached him since he was a kid? I don't think any amount of optimism resolves that question.

the conclusion that Rumph must be fired because he did not land TC or PS2 assumes that we did not land them only because of Rumph. This assumption is false, especially considering the target is an 18 year kid who is very likely a prima donna being courted by the best of the best.
The assumption that I'm calling for Rumph to be fired is false. I don't know enough about his responsibilities. Failing to land TC is a big miss. Slice that up any way you'd like.

This is exactly where I am. It just seems that over the last 2-3 years, our "big misses" have been at DB, for whatever reason. That said, I do love the guys we've brought in during that time, especially Bandy, Ivey, Frierson, Hall, and Carter.

I'm not sad or hurt I'm just looking at these dudes like they're a bunch of clowns.

Big Nesta is my guy... the strong group of dbs we got this class are going to make big time plays for us so fck em. But lol at how air headed these sfl dbs "business decisions" are

Honestly this is a very level headed way of dealing with this. Stop whining over who we didn't get and get behind the monsters we did sign.

I don't think anybody is debating that one. He's a 6'2 corner running 10.4. Those guys don't come around often. It's a huge loss.

So you are saying that Miami needs better coaching, and not just a bunch of young dudes with no resumes?

Could have told you that 2 years ago homie!

Nesta Silvera made his own business decision to sign with the best defensive line coach in America.

Well, he seems to be the only elite DT in the country we were able to convince of that. This problem is systemic. I mean, we whiffed today. This staff has to have underperformed its own expectations.

you are correct. you havent called for his firing. i apologize. many have and i incorrectly attributed that to you. not "landing" TC is a failure, but laying that on Rumph's lap may not in my opinion be accurate.

Get the **** outta here with this soft *** take Rumph was brought here to recruit and recruit only he serves 0 purpose on this staff Now

Ding, Ding, Ding. He was brought here for recruiting specifically for 2018 DB class. THATS ALL THE F>CK WE’VE TALKED ABOUT SINCE 2016!!! This was the most complete, elite DB class in our own back yard in a minute. The top 3 DBs were in our back yard and we literally went 0-3. Rumph went 0-2 for kids he’s known since dang near diapers! Lol. No way to spin this; this was a f>ckin chit show of a recruitment job. And I’m not just putting this on Rumph alone; Kul haven’t pulled his weight from the Mo.; TX areas either for DL. And I have no idea what kind of closer Diaz is!

All I know, my hatred for AH, UF, Bama, and UGA has ratcheted up 3 notches

All this, except hating AH.

Either you can sell or you can't. It's clear that Rumph, and to a lesser extent Kool, cannot sell. The difference being Kool is an elite teacher.

Rumph needs to be shown the door. I'll take a guy who can recruit monsters over an above average corner coach.

What an ignorant post.

Bandy is there to recruit. Why not blame him?

And Rumph can develop his players as well as Kuligowski can, but he has only done so for 2 years.

You can't hire an entire staff filled with 20-year veterans. Kids all over the country are putting their faith in position coaches with 5 or 6 years of experience.

When Rumph develops the DBs that we signed in 2017 and 2018, recruits all over Florida will know who he is and will want to play for him.

In the last 2 years, there have been 6 kids from Dade and Broward who were ranked in the top 10 in the state. We signed zero. If you include 2016 as well, even though this staff only had 2 months, there were another 3. So in in the last 3 years, there have been a total of 9 kids from Dade & Broward ranked in the top 10 in the state and we signed 0.

In the last 2 years, we have signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 in the state. If you include 2016, we still only signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 in the state of Florida over a 3 year period.

So, over 3 years we have not signed a single kid from Dade or Broward who was ranked in the top in the state. And we have signed 1 kid ranked in the top 10 of the state over the same period of time.

Just pointing out facts, nothing else. But, if you want to compete with the BAMA's, CLEMSON's and now UGA's of the world, the first step you need to take is lock down ELITE talent in your very own backyard in and in your state. Yeah, a number 5 or 6 recruiting class is great, but you still cannot whiff on this amount of talent in your own backyard and state and ever expect to compete with the big boys. Especially considering that this staff is not elite.

Facts are in the Top 100 in the State of Florida, we signed 11, which is the most in the state by any school. Did you say a Top 5 class is cool, but you can't whiff. What?? LOL!!! If we keep getting TOP 5 classes, we're going to be exactly where all of us want to be ol

Sir, you can disagree all you like, but those are the facts. You will NOT, we will NOT, compete with the elite college football programs when you miss on elite level talent like we have been in our own backyard. If you are honestly trying to tell yourself that not signing a single, not one kid from Dade and Broward who are ranked top 10 in the state of Florida over a 3 year period is an issue, well than, you are clearly not seeing what elite level football programs are doing on the recruiting front.

Would you like me to show you in comparison what Bama, Georgia, Ohio Sate and Clemson do with locking up the talent in there own backyard? You really don't, because what they are doing recruiting wise is on another level than what we are. And again, we don't have anywhere near the staff's they do. So, to make up for that, we MUST recruit at an ELITE level. And again, missing out on the amount of talent in our own backyard and state show that we simply are not getting it done.

On a final note, over the course of his 15 years at Georgia Richt managed to average the #7 ranked recruiting class. Even with that amount of talent, and all the backing in the world from a school like Georgia when it came to money and boosters, he failed to play for a NC even once. He is now at a University where he does not have that same advantage he once did at UGA, his staff is good, not close to elite, so his recruiting must be the very best in order for us to compete for natty's again. If you are okay with 9-10 wins on average every year, playing for the ACC title every few years, than okay, no problem. But if you want to compete for natty's sir, the staff either needs a major upgrade or the recruiting needs to become elite.

How many S FL CBs have told Rumph to fvck his own face since he was hired?

I'm not sure if he is a good coach or not, but none of the players that have played for him think he is GOOD! Surtain SR must not think so either.

And yet we were in the Final 3 for both Campbell and Surtain.

I don't like losing out to former DBs Saban and Smart, but at least I can understand it.

Neither Campbell nor Surtain have said that Rumph is not a good coach. But, yes, there might be one or two guys out there who have coached DBs for a much longer time.

And, still, we took Saban and Smart down to the wire for Surtain and Campbell.

Has nothing to do with fckn Rumph... South Florida dbs are fckn mental. We couldn't recruit American Heritage when James Coley was here but now Coley is an ACE at UGA?? No its clear that it doesn't matter who is a recruiter at these SEC schools.. these simple minded sfl dbs are just some groupies they gon jump on that d**k regardless.

We always worried about who the best of the best recruiter is and we need to have him... that isn't the issue, it's south Florida dbs that are the issue.
We couldn’t recruit AH because Rumph was there running his mouth and sending kids to UGA

Rumph was running his mouth about Golden, and Rumph was right about Golden. Golden is not Richt or UM. The coach that Rumph was speaking against is gone and the coach that he was sending kids to is now our Coach Richt. Your post establishes Rumph as a person of extreme influence over his players in years past, so why isn't he now that he is a coach at UM and the coach he sent them to is currently at UM.

And it's only the beginning. Just like Amari Cooper started the trend to Alabama.

Tyson Campbell used Sony Michel as his "Florida boy in Georgia" the flood gates are opening up, we've already heard Georgia is a main player in a lot of the south Florida kids recuritment for 2019.

Combine that with Alabama and Clemson already cherry picking our guys, i don't see it ending anytime soon.

What started Clemson's upward recruiting trend.

Dabo Swinney never signed a class as highly ranked as this one in his entire career.

Huh? Miami's current average in the 2018 class per player is 90.99. Clemson's this year is 93.19. In 2017 it was 92.10. Quality of players over the last 2 years for Clemson is better than our current class. Just stating facts.
