Like everything there's somewhere in the middle. It's more like the bad 100 times wasnt viewed as indicative of his game speed.If he would've ran a 10.68 from the jump there never would have been a question about his speed.
When he ran an 11.5 it was, "100m times don't matter", but now that he's a sub 11, it's he's not slow.
So either the times don't matter or they do?
IF they do, then stop trying to explain away slow times & call a spade, a spade.
Fast athletes run fast times. as evidenced by him running a 10.6.
It's like plenty of NFL players who run bad 40s doesn't mean they are slow. Some guys may have slightly faster 40 times than youd think from film also - like Mathew Golden recently. How much do you value it vs film though?
